So if I had to classify myself, I'd be "Moderately Active", and I set my settings as such. But then you can plug in your daily exercise... Hmm... Isn't the setting of moderately active basically including that? So should I just set my thing to sedentary and then input my daily exercise? Or leave it at moderate? I'm kind of confused. Or just does the fact that I'm moderately active make my metabolism higher, so I should still input my exercise. Sorry, it's really hard to explain and I'm not very good at explaining things. =X

Basically: I burn 2100cals at sedentary

I burn 2600cals at moderately active

Say I burn 400cals at the gym tomorrow, have I burnt 2500cals total or 2900cals total?

(edit: I know you can never know exactly how one person burns kcals, but just roughly)

As I understand it, it's mostly personal preference.

Some people set at sedentary and like to add their exercise.

Others like to set at moderate or light so that they can aim for a consistent cal intake and not worry about logging activities.

Either way it would seem to me that at the end of the week, it should average out.

The other factor is, like you said, if you exercise regularly then you burn more throughout the day, so sedentary won't be entirely accurate..but how much of a difference this makes (as in, exactly how much more you burn throughout the day) I'm not sure.

You definitely don't set at moderate AND add activity tho - that would be double dipping. :)

Mhm, I'm sure because I'm active I burn a little bit more at rest than when I was sedentary, but I doubt it's that much of a difference.

Okay, thanks! Yeah, I had set it at Moderate AND was adding stuff. And I kept reading "Don't go more than 1000 under your burn meter", and I was averaging about 1500 under and was feeling really satisfied with that calorie amount (1500-1600) so I was all "Hmmm?" xD. So I guess I'll just pick one way or another. Thanks again!
