The Burn Meter... Just a quick question to assist a NEWBIE

Quote  |  Reply

Ok, I have a quick question on the burn meter.... Do I add in ALL of my activity?  I mean, there is a section for grooming, office work and just daily stuff.....

Hmmmm... With me playing around with it (my first day here), I have burned over 3500 calories after my workout with just SOME of my daily activities listed.

Not too sure how this feature works.

Thanks ALL!!!  I have been reading the comments here for a couple of weeks now and everyone seems GREAT!

From what I understand, you add in only the things that you don't normally do on a daily basis. I have my meter set for sedentary so I add in everything that isn't listed in that section. So, today I vacuumed and did some shopping, so I added those activities. When I work out, I add in everything I do at the gym since under "sedentary" it's listed as "you don't exercise regularly". I read somewhere on here that by using sedentary, you can get a more accurate picture of your daily burn when you add in each activity.

Hiya, I am also unsure of how the burn meter works it does say on the info page that we should keep the burn meter levels above those of the eat meter but does this mean we should cut our calories to suit our activity level or stick to the calories under all circumstances???

As anna27 said I also set my initial profile for sedentary and add everything in, and although it does give a more accurate picture of our activity levels I am not sure how it fits in with the eat meter Undecided

Apologies if I have added to your confusion Laughing

Good luck and every success in achieving your goals...x

The burn meter estimate is an estimate how many calories you burn per day. I chose sedentary and log most of my activities. If you stay 500 calories below the burn meter estimate, you should lose one pound per 7 days (3500 calories is one pound). The burn meter changes with time and gives a snap shot of what you have burned in calories at that time.
