My burn meter suddenly changed...why?

Hi all...

Since I signed on CC (beginning of April) my estimated calorie burn was 1780 (light activity)...just recently it dropped down to 1640. Why is that?

Can anyone explain?

Mine changed too, except for mine went up from 2880 to 2940? Wierd isnt it?

yours changed 140 too...hmmmm. well i wish mine went up instead of down! lol

Sorry...i swear i can do math. lol. i was off. yours went up 60? I don't get it!

They both kind of have their disadvantages, like i dont want to trick myself into thinking that im burning 60 more calories than I actually am, and Im sure you dont want to be eating 140 calories less! The past week I've just been using my old burn score of 2880. I figured it was probobly a glitch in CC.

Calorie count wrote a blog or email or something about this saying that they changed the equation they were using... I'll have to find it unless someone had it on hand. I can't do it right now but I can later.  So your new burn meters are based on the different equation.

Thanks for posting! I was also wondering why my burn meter fell from 1700 to 1610 !!

Mine drops by every pound I lose.  (or goes up)  It's gone from 1,900 to todays' 1790.  I imagine the less you weigh the less you burn.

I have read that this site is working on the Burn Meter.  Mine is set at 'sedentary' and I add any lengthy exercise.

I have another questions:  how does the burn meter work?  what does it mean?  Unclear.
