Burning fat

Quote  |  Reply

If my BMR is around 1300-1400, and I burn at the least, 800-900 calories by lifting weights and intense cardio every day, and eat a 40/35/25 ratio of protein, carbs and fat totalling aprox.1600 calories, combined with green tea, and lots of water, and I am 23 yrs old,120 pounds and a female, shouldn't I be losing weight?? What the hell am I doing wrong??

How tall are you?

Weights and intense cardio EVERY DAY? Bingo. You're overworking your body on a limited calorie diet, which forces it into a protective mode.

Do the weights alone MWF, stop the cardio and I bet you'll lose plenty.

If this is a serious post...getting the feeling a lot of these are people playing.

How tall are you?

Thank you for your response. I'm actually really serious. I'v been weightlifting for a few years now, and I hike and jog alot lately, but I sometimes do wieghts one day, cardio the next, then weights and cardio, etc. so its not always both everyday.

ooops. 5'4

I have the EXACT same issue. I'm 20, 5'1 and 123 pounds. I do spin classes multiple times a week, life pretty heavy at least 4 times a week, eat super healthy within a 1400-1600 range, rarely drink, don't drink soda, drink green tea and am as active as possible. I haven't lost a pound.

You should not be lifting everyday. You need to allow for a recovery day in between lifting. What kind of cardio are you doing? How tall are you? Maybe 120 is a good weight.
