Business Travel and Weight Loss
Irregular schedule, meals out, etc. Many obstacles to weight loss while traveling for business. Any tips? I'm planning on taking some fresh fruit and granola bars, etc. for snacks in the hotel and hopefully will be able to squeeze some time in for exercise, but I was interested in any tips anyone else might have.
Traveling for business and keeping your CC schedule is a tough one. Here is what I did when I travelled. I took almonds, protein bars and EAS Advantedge protein drinks. That way I knew I was getting enough protein. The restaurants were laden w/ all sorts of fats and that was a turnoff to me.
I also hit the fitness center in the hotel as often as I could, even when I was dog tired. A good run will do wonders for clearing your mind.
Drink water as often as you can. That one really threw me for a loop. I was unable to drink my norm and found myself quite dehydrated.
Good luck
I pack nuts, protein bars, pouches of tuna for lean protein. Can buy fruit & water almost anyplace ... it's not a popular choice but there are usually apples & oranges for sale at Starbucks, and from room service in hotels you can always just ask for fruit or cut veggies, plain, even if they are not on the menu.
I use hotel fitness centers sometimes, but if I don't have room to pack gym shoes I either bring a swimsuit (always fits in my bag) & swim in the hotel pool or try local yoga studios. Yoga clothes are easy to pack, you don't need shoes, can rent a mat and drop in for a class in the early morning before meetings. I've also packed resistance bands and fitness or yoga DVDs to do in my hotel room.
Hope this helps.
