Too Busy to exercise. HELP!!

Quote  |  Reply

I am a mother of three, 2 of which are toddlers, a wife and i work 2 jobs, both of which i do not sit down for very long periods.  I have been trying to lose my wiehght for near a year and I have floated from losinf 15 - 29 lbs for that long. Along with me trying to lose wieght, I am trying to help my husband.  Ijust really don't have time to exercise but i know that is the next step to losing more.  I have a very hard time remembering to count my calories.  Can anyone give some good advice.

People only need to do exercise when they have very inactive, non-physical lives.  You clearly don't have that problem so don't be too bothered that you're not in some gym.... it's not essential.

What you'll have to work on, however, is the accuracy of your calorie-counting and the quality of your diet.   Both are going to make the biggest difference to the outcome.

Make sure you're getting the right amount to eat and if you use the CC calculator set the activity level to something like 'moderate' to account for all your day-to-day activity.   Build your meals around vegetables.... moderate amounts of everything else.... and be very careful about portion-sizes.

Thank you so much!!  When I used the CC Calculator,  I was surprised.  My Dietician said my day to day activity didn't count b/c i do it all the time and my body doesn't recognize it as burning calories.  But the Burn Meter says I need more calories.  I have been a platue fora very long time and I wonder if this is why.  Thanks again.

I think your dietitian is misguided. If you were at the gym every day, would your body not recognise the calories burned then?

Your body will "recognise" energy burned in any form, whether at the gym or at work or running after small children, because all movement requires energy.

thanks for all the help.  The dietitian said this b/c I don't sweat when I work or play with my kids.  But I can work out at home on steps or jogging in place and don't sweat either.  So i figured she was right, till now.  thanks so much
