I gave into buttery deliciousness........

Quote  |  Reply
YUP..... I did it *holding head down in shame*  I went to the movies, I ate a huge bag of extra buttered, fluffy yumminess (and a bag of M n M's)    OMG..... I feel like a greasy fingered, bloated, double crossing calorie thief!!!!!

I just KNOW that I am going to wake up tomorrow, and be faced with that feeling, you know, that feeling you get when you wake up in the morning after your Christmas party and realize that flashing your boss in a drunkin "I love everybody" moment???

****UGH****

Thank you, I need that.  "punish me, punish me dammit!!!"
It's SO NOT worth it! Next time try getting the "I'm not gonna make THEM rich" mentality. Don't spend YOUR hard-earned money to make yourself fat either. Thinking like that helps. :)
Thanks alayney, that's a great idea!
its ok, you made a small mistake, get back on the horse tomorrow and just accept it as a bump in the road rather than a roadblock and you will be peachy!

My theory on this kind of thing is, if you enjoyed it when you did it, and it wasn't a HUGE waste of calories, and it's not an everyday occurrence...enjoy the past and move on with a healthier future!

I'm going to have a twix PB tonight...and I'm excited..b/c I have not had junk food in awhile!  haha, treating yourself once in a while, especially when it's planned, can be a nice treat :)

Thanks!!!!!!!!
I am in the same boat but much worse. I had a pretty low calorie day (only 1000 by then) and was at boston pizza at night. I thought I could get something without worrying too much about calories. Basically, I got the spinach dip and when I got home I found out it was 2000 calories. OMG!!! ahhh I felt like someone tricked me or something. How can they sell something as an appetizer with that many calories!! It shouldn't be legal!
Yea, it is surprising how many calories are in those appitizers. You must be a canadian?  I havent seen a Boston Pizza since I last left Alberta :(

Awww, you know every once in a while a slip occurs....Just don't make it too often!  You know what I do that may sound gross, but may defeat that craving?

I take a bag of 94% fat free (actually you could air pop your own corn), spray down a little at a time with some butter flavored spray, then sprinkle some parmasean cheese on top. If you like smart food, i think you would like this.

As for appetiziers, holy crap is all I can say. Sometimes you think you are choosing the right ones (sometimes not) and then you find out later and ....eek!

tomorrow is a new day!!! I bet that most of whatever you will show tomorrow (on the scale) will be water. dang salt!
I sat here eating lentils and lettuce leaves.   *primly looking down nose*
Shoot, popcorn is what keeps my soul happy.  I eat popcorn at the movies for dinner every Tuesday.  It is my favorite snack, and it isn't too unhealthy if I only do it once a week or so.

Enjoy it, and move on.  Think about it, even if you did it as much as I do, you would only slow your weight loss goal by a day or two, TOTAL.  Most of us on this site were a "bad" weight for a lot longer than that.

Too many times, we get wrapped up in how "perfect" we can eat.  We don't need to be yelled at or made to feel bad, or punished because we ate-that sets up bad associations.  We need to be understood, encouraged, and applauded for trying as hard as we are!
i agree, put it behind you and move on. it wont make any difference in the grand scheme of things!!
I bring all my own stuff into movie theaters. I know you're not supposed to do that, but TOO BAD. I buy my son whatever candy he wants beforehand and bring in a bottle of water and something to snack on for me. Movies are expensive enough as it is, dammit.

Actually, you're allowed to bring whatever you want into the theatre. Unless there's a sign somewhere saying you cant, or if you're making a big fat mess.

Anyways, don't feel bad. That's what dieting is all about. You tricked your metabolism a little bit. Now your body is going to burn more calories today than it would have if you hadn't had that candy and popcorn.

Just remember, it could have been a lot worse--and you'd still be losing weight.

For that buttery-popcorn taste, i really like Quaker's buttered popcorn flavored rice cakes. They really are good. Even my kids (who abhor anything remotely healthy, lol) like them.
