Where to buy maternity swimwear?

Quote  |  Reply
I've been putting off buying a new bathing suit since I bought three last summer.  :P  My belly is getting big, so I really need a maternity swimsuit, but I don't want to spend a lot of money considering I'm due in three months (and I think I'll be early), and I don't know how much I'll feel like swimming closer to my due date anyway.  Do any of you ladies have suggestions as to where I can find an inexpensive swimsuit?  I just looked at JC Penney's online, but they're still more than I want to pay.  Even on sale, a top is $20 and the bottoms are $20.  I might just resort to wearing my bikini with a t-shirt over it!  :)

hi cecily-  try www.oldnavy.com  there are a few bathing suits in the maternity section.  good luck!  i was going to wear my bathing suit with shorts on-  i was going to get a tankini top -  but all the bottoms are so skimpy looking that i'd def need yogs shorts or something to go over them- or maybe a cute swim skirt :-P

back to the stair mill I go for next summer!!!
Vanessa, I'm so disappointed!  I know you've mentioned Old Navy before, but I totally forgot about them.  So I went to the one by me yesterday, and they didn't have any maternity swimwear.  Ugh!  I even found a cute suit online that said it was available in stores.  I asked a salesperson if they even had maternity swimsuits, and they said they never received any this year.  I called over to another mall, and they didn't get any either.

I didn't want to order online because I couldn't decide if I'm a medium or large, so I went to Target today and spent $37 on a suit I'm not totally thrilled with.  In fact, I think I may take it back.  I tried on two and realized that medium bottoms fit great, but I need a large top for my giant boobs.  LOL!  So I went with a large (the only one they had left), but the bottoms feel too roomy.  JC Penney's is having a sale starting tomorrow, so I'm going to go first thing in the morning.  I didn't like that you have to buy tops and bottoms separately, but now I'm thinking that's my best option.  I can get a better fit that way.

I found a pretty cheap tankini type on Ebay that I just bought.  I haven't got it in the mail yet, so I'll have to see how it fits.  I figure any swimsuit is not going to look that great this year, so I decided to go with one that was really cheap.

Ugh!  I'm so mad right now.  I went to JC Penney's today, and they didn't have maternity suits in the store, either.  Then I WALKED to the pool that is supposed to be open only to find out they may not open for at least another two weeks-if they open at all!  Ugh!  So since I already cut the tags off my Target swimsuit, I guess I'll keep it. :)
well, i'm just proud of both of you for even attempting to get a bathing suit.  my tummy and boobs are LARGE and IN CHARGE!!  i love walking around at home with my little top on to show off my belly; but i'm not sure I could get my body in a swimsuit!!!  after all this reading about going 1 week or so past your due date; i'm sure i will be dying to jump in a pool since my DD is 7/20.  i wore shorts the other day and i thought my inner thighs looked huge.  i'm sure it's my hormones telling me I'm a little whalish!  but that's how I feel!!  i'm sorry old navy didn't work out :(  their tops run big; but i'm not sure how the bathing suits are.

just a thought though-  what about getting a tankini from kohls?  maybe just get a size larger than normal?  does it have to be maternity?  i got some cute spring dresses from marshall's two sizes larger in an empire waist to accomodate the belly that wasn't maternity wear.

I loved, loved, loved my maternity swim suit from www.oldnavy.com! It was $25 total plus $5 shipping.

I got mine at Motherhood.  I know typically their prices can be scary.  But they had such a great selection and the prices weren't bad.  I did buy mine a couple months ago, so maybe that affected the price.  I got a brown tankini set for $25.  It's super simple, but I love it.  I would wear it daily if I could!  For me the bottoms were a little bigger than I like, but my butt somehow managed to grow into them.  I'm due July 19!!!  Good luck.

I got mine at clearance at motherhood maternity it wasn't that expensive but if your just going to wear it for a couple months and you dont want to spend the money just do what you said you might do wear the bikini and wear something over it.
