When did you have to go buy new pants?

Quote  |  Reply

Starting to lose some serious pounds, and wondering when others had to go get a new wardrobe?  Laughing

I don't need to yet, but I'm not a shopper type, so I can imagine I will miss the cue and be pulling up my pants.

With back to school shopping I dragged my mom out for some new clothing a few weeks (and a couple of pounds) ago.

I definately noticed a change after dropping 15pounds... put on a pair of pants I bought back in the winter... and almost mooned the people behind me on the bus :'D

Just be sure to wear a belt if you don't want to get new pants right awayWink

I seriously wear my pants until they are literally falling off of me. Once they become "saggy butt" pants, I know it's time to get new ones. But since I don't have the money to buy new pants all the time, I push it as long as i can before I buy new ones. I had a huge gammet of sizes in my closet, so I had a few pairs to last me for a while, but not too long.

im a massive shopper but i am the same, i wear clothes till they look too big and then go out and get more when i can. at the moment, my jeans are quite saggy in the bum so i really should go out and buy a new pair!!

Im now at the point where I had to throw away 3/4 of my wardrobe. The shirts that fit be when I was 9 are now loose. ^^'

I go to the local flea-markets and second hand shops for new clothes. You can find a stack of GREAT shirts and jeans for only about 10 euros (somewhere around 20 dollars)! Oh, and a belt I bought in June is now too big! ;D Bummer, gotta get a new one!

I had to start buying new pants after dropping a little over 15lbs.  One of my coworkers made a comment that I had some seriously saggy britches.

I've stubbornly refused to buy any new pants--I've spent the money on a new shirt and a new dress instead! It took about 15 pounds to get a change in pants size, and I've lost about 20 now. I just dug out my old jeans from earlier in college/late high school--they're worn out, and I also wear pants that are too big and just belt them. I did treat myself to a clearance pair of shorts, after losing 20, though. But I feel like eh, they're just pants. I wanted to celebrate feeling more comfortable with myself, so I got a sexy top and cute dress. I'm not usually fashion over function, but it felt like a bigger milestone.

I think I lost 20 lbs before I broke down and bought new pants.  My would fall off my body when I walked up and downstairs.  Very attractive!  Undecided

I have no found the wonderment of Plato's Closet which sells kinda cool clothing for really cheap.  Hooray for $8 clothes!

thats the worst part about losing weight, things that you love don't fit you. But since Im only looking to lose 10-15 pounds Im just doing to get them professionally taken in. I love my jeans to death, no way Im parting with them! lol

I start paying attention when I can pull up my pants without unzipping/unbuckling them.

I buy new ones when they keep slipping below my hip bones.

I think I lost 20 lbs before I bought new jeans and probably more like 30 before I got new shirts. At this point I've bought a whole new wardrobe about 4 times. I started at dress size 28 and I'm at size 10 now so I'm having to replace all the XL stuff I bought 4 months ago with mediums. This weight loss has been darned expensive and I've had so few clothes that fit me I've worn pretty much nothing but leggings/yoga pants and baggy sweatshirts for the past year. I think I'm finally at a size I'm going to be staying at for awhile so I've caught the shopping bug. My credit card is having a seizure as I type this.

I hate buying pants because I always have to go have them altered (I have stubby legs - but not quite stubby enough for petite sizing) and that is really just such a pain in the butt. And expensive.

I need to go buy more though. Badly. After losing almost 14lbs (really? Have I lost that much? Feels weird and unbelieveable to say it). I've noticed some serious 'saggy butt syndrome' on most of my pants I wear to work - I shall claim they are "wide leg" styled.

I can remove my old jeans without even unbuttoning them. This... I can only deem as a desirable pant trait in two situations.  One of which includes a dreamy guy and some spare time... haha. The other situation involves chugging 2L of water trying to reverse the side effects of a salty binge the night before and the resulting concequences.

I've lost 38 lbs and have dropped from a 20 to a 12!  So I've had to buy a bunch of cheap Walmart shorts to keep me going.

I hated paying a lot of money for new jeans though, when I still have 15 lbs to go, so this weekend I went to America's Thrift Store and got 2 pair of Old Navy jeans and 1 pair of Gap jeans, all just like new, for EIGHT dollars!  YAY!  Then I'll just donate them back in a couple of months.

Usually about every 10 pounds for pants.  Shirts not as much.

I got new clothes when I realised that my shorts were going to fall down if I put anything in my pockets because the elastic was too loose to hold them up with the extra weight! (Plus they were as baggy as clown pants because they were two sizes too big...) and I replace my tshirts when they start to slide off my shoulders and/or look like a nightshirt instead of a top. I get all my clothes at the thrift store so that I can replace them as needed without spending a fortune...

Everything I own right now is either 1 or 2 sizes too big. I always have a saggy butt in my pants.. GRR. I lose a pants size every 20 pounds and I am 3 pounds away from being my next lower size. I gotta go to the mall soon :(

I have a ton of work clothes right now in a size 16 petite. My problem with clothes is that I'm required to dress professionaly at work-- suits and such. I have saved a few sizes in 14, 12 and 10 even so hopefully that will tide me through. A friend told me that every 10 pounds or so she went down a size. When I'm back down to an 8, I have one pair of jeans left and when I hit size 6, baby's gonna buy me a new wardrobe! He just doesn't know it yet.

We should start a clothes exchange group.

Ug, i refuse to buy anything, pants especially until I'm in a normal weight range.  Shopping for pants and realizing i can barely fit an 11 anymore and 9 is out of the question is just too much reality and i hate it.  So I'm going to save myself the stress and wait until I'm down at least 10 more lbs.

I'm the SAME way. I can FINALLY fit into clothes that I wore in HS which makes me really happy!

I too wait until they are falling off..lol.. or someone tells me they look bad...

But I am almost at that point. I could barely squeeze into a 10 a month ago and now 7s are baggy. I really don't want to buy more.. going to try and bulk up and maintain from here.

let's see...I started at 165.4 lbs in Apr 2006; by summer I had to buy new summer clothes and by fall again, new fall clothes; now i have to buy another set lol I'm at 127-130 lbs and all my winter clothes are...non existent b/c they were loose

usually hubby tells me that the butt is sagging and i need a new pair lol i do use belts though b/c it takes abt a month for a new pair to start getting loose....

and right now i can take all my pairs off wt/out unbuttoning them...oh my! badly need to go shopping!
