buying an elliptical

Quote  |  Reply

I am currently looking around for an elliptical machine and was wondering which ones are the best for the price ? I do not have a crazy amount of money to buy one, and am looking at maybe $500 the most I can afford right now. Any ideas ?

Thanks !

I have one I got online at walmart.com a couple years ago and have had great luck with it and it was only $350 included shipping.  It doesn't have alot of bells and whistles but I too didn't have the $$ for more and its been very reliable too.

I just got one from Sam's Club for $399!  So far so good!  I love it!  You can adjust the stride from 13", 15", or 18".  It has a built in fan and 10 different workouts.  I had to buy a large board to stabilize it on our fully carpeted floor...but it does a great job!  Also assembly was pretty painless.

The Proform website has closeouts on ellipticals and shipping is usually included in the price.  Nordictrack is also supposed to be really good.

If you find one you like...go to http://www.pricegrabber.com/ to make sure you are getting the best price!

You can also check Play it Again Sports or Craig's list for deals on used ellipticals.

I got an elliptical a couple of months ago from Wal-mart and I love it.  My husband watches a lot of movies so while he and the kids are watching movies I hop on.  I have really bad knees and it doesn't hurt them at all.
