Maybe you should invest in buying a safe for your forbidden foods? :D

But seriously, I'm sorry you have to say goodbye to peanut butter for a while. Maybe you could get your peanut butter fix a different way, like in a peanut butter chocolate Luna bar? (I think that's the flavor..) I've heard most people say it's their favorite of all flavors!

Or, when you decide to buy it again, maybe you could try eating it in a way that makes it last longer. Like, if you like it on celery or toast, spread it very thinly on so you still have some of your 2 tbsp to spare. Spread it out through the day so you don't just have one big gob of it at one sitting! That's far too temping to go beyond the limit, in my opinion...

oh my - i know how you feel!  i only recently got hooked on since joining CC.  Everyone kept talking about it on here so i thought, yeah, i'll go get some for a different snack to have - and man, i do the same now, i know its htere so i think about it after dinner and then gave in and grab a huge table spoon of it!!  i may have to join you in throwing mine out!!  its so high in cals for such a little amount!!  arrgghhh
i love it so much but i think to myself man i just had 100cals for 2tbsp of peanut butter. i could have used that for more filling things, like more veggies w/dinner or something likje that.  dont get me wrong i will get again but right now, need to lay off..
I have heard people raving about a product called PB2.

Perhaps once you get your craving in order, you could give it a try.
i have PB2 too, it is very good but not taste as good as the other stuff so i dont really crave it at all.
My mother is the same way.  She used to come home from work every day and immediately get a big ole spoonful of peanut butter every day when I was growing up.  She has recently given it up.

I always thought peanut butter was around 200cal/ 2 tablespoon.

Anyways, peanut butter isn't really -that- bad for you.  That is, as long as you don't go crazy with it.  It's full of monosatured fat, and fairly low in saturated fat.  ( something like 3g/serving )  I'm sure you'll manage without peanut butter.

I also gave up peanut butter.  One tbsp.  doesn't go very far in a sandwich and it also is not very filling. I decided to eat food that is more satisfying.
Peanut butter is awesome, but I very rarely eat a whole tablespoon of it at one time. I eat a lighter lower-fat version, but nowadays it feels too heavy and sweet to eat a lot of all at once. Instead, I get a couple of low-fat whole wheat pretzel sticks and lightly dip or scrape them on the inside sides of the jar (so I don't pick up a whole lot) and munch on a couple of those, and thats how I get my peanut butter fix. :-)
i have crunchy peanut butter with no added oil or salt, its about 190 calories per tbsp. But its rich in mono usaturated fat and mine has less than 8 percent saturated fat in it. peanut butter is better than butter, and has more nutrion than jam or other spreads. so when you want toast or a bagel, reach for peanut butter, not the butter.
Yeah I just went through a whole box of cereal last night so it's lookin like you're not the only one who's giving up some of the better foods...
I'm totally in love with my PB2. Just got it a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't believe how fast I got it. I ordered it one day and two days later it was here!! Anyway, I feel like it has saved  my life. No, it's not the same as regular peanut butter, but for me it works just fine. I tend to add more water than reccomended to make it go a little farther. When I need a serious pb fix I take a Wonder Light wheat bun (80 cals) a small banana (50-75) and 2 tbsp of PB2 (54), toast the bun, add the rest, and I am SET!!

Sorry to hear you're having peanut butter issues, though. I thought muttlover had a good idea with getting snacks like Luna bars that have pb incorporated into them. I tend to do that, too.
I too had to give up peanut butter for now. It sets me off in the worst way even worse than chocolate! I have been buying south beach diet peanut butter bars and they're pretty good and don't cause me to go crazy.
I just made a really yummy dinner with satay (ie peanut butter sauce). It might be away to make that peanut taste go further if you also like the savory peanut thing.

I took half an onion, and garlic and fried them (no oil)

added 1/2 stock cube, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1tsp dried corriander, 2 Tbsp sweet soya sauce, 2 tsp of sambal olek (chilli paste) and stirred around a while

and then added some frozen raw prawns, loads of peppers, broccoli, mushrooms and beans and a little water and left to cook,

then added 2tbsp peanut butter, about 1/2 cup to a cup of water (this will depend on how runny you like it, your peanut butter etc) and stired through until the peanut butter melts and combines well, then i added 3 tsp of lemon juice and stirred.

i figure that the sauce comes out at about 300 calories (guessing those for ketchap manis cause couldn't find it in CC) and is enough for 2 people. (so 150 each) with 100 cal worth of prawns (which is loads, about 100g = 83 cals according to the side of the pack i used) and 100 cal for the veges, that is a lot of peanut enjoyment and a very satisfying meal for about 350 cal.
where the heck do you order the peanut butter substitutes from ? I have googled & I can find plenty of sites that talk about how wonderful it is - but I don't see where everyone orders it from???
I think the link above goes right to the site to order it!
you should try Nature's Valley 100% whole grain crunchy Peanut Butter bars.. sooooooo goood!!!!!
You can order the PB2 at www.bellplantation.com
I get sweet cravings as well as pbutter cravings, so usually if I eat pbutter, I end up eating the whole jar (yes, I eat just the pbutter with a spoon).

What I do now is that I make brownies and dump in some peanut butter in the dough to make peanut butter brownies. Since brownies can be packed in zip bags to be on the go, it's easier to control calories.

Hope this helps

This link will take you straight to the PB2 page at Bell Plantation.  I love the stuff.  I don't really crave it like I used to crave peanut butter but I think it's done its job in that regard.

It satisfies my peanut butter hunger but doesn't inspire me to eat half a jar on crackers.  It's lighter and makes a nice dip for fruit.
