c-section, is it possible to get my tummy back?

Quote  |  Reply

Help... I weigh 10 pounds less now than before I had my baby, but my tummy is not as flat as it used to be.  Is it possible to get the flat tummy back?  Any exercises that might help (besides regular situps)?  I had a c-section, so I don't know if that matters.  My baby is 1 1/2 now.

Since no one is replying on this one, I'm starting to think it's not possible...

I think it's possible. I had 3 C-sections, my youngest is now 4.

Now I'm about 115 lbs.  I don't really do sit-ups, because I find that it hurts where the incision is.  I do T-Tapp, eat 50% raw, portion control, keep active.

wow

that was REALLY motivating >>> I had a c-section & my baby is 3 months old

I'm already on a diet and would love to have my tummy back

thnxs for the pics >>> but what is T-Tapp??

From the T-Tapp website:

"T-Tapp is a series of copyrighted, sequential movements designed to put the body in proper functional alignment. Its special sequence of comprehensive, compound muscle movement helps establish better alignment as well as increased strength and flexibility of the spine, better neuro-kinetic flow, lymphatic function, and increased metabolic rate. Its physical therapy approach to fitness makes it safe for those with shoulder, hip, knee, neck, and back concerns. Yet, it delivers a challenging workout for all fitness levels"

It's definitely possible. I had a bit of a pudge before having my children even though I only weighed 107 pounds (at 5'2"-ish). I do not try to tone my abs because after 2 c-sections I, too, have residual pain. After my first c-section I didn't get back to my pre-pregnancy weight but my tummy was definitely back to it's pre-pregnancy state. I'm only 3 months postpartum at this point so I still have a way to go!

thnx bier

I think I will check it out.

I think it depends on your body composition.  I asked the dr the same question and he said since they cut into my muscle that it would be very hard to get a flat stomach.  My stomach is not completely flabby but I do have a little bulge.

one word:  pilates.  And, hope.  And, time.  You will get it back.  I have a six month old after a c-section; and my tummy's almost flat.  My obliques are great; it's like my whole 4 pack puffed out a little.  But that will go down.
