Caffiene in the Morning
I usually drink a Tim Hortons Ice Capaccino in the morning for a source of caffiene. I don't like tea or coffee and am looking for something to give me that kick but without all the sugar and calories.
Any ideas?
The "kick" in an Iced Capp comes from sugar... I doubt there's much caffeine in there. If you ask for it made with milk instead of cream, you can save some calories. Or Diet Coke? Diet Red Bull? Not the best way to start the morning.
(well, I stand corrected... an iced capp actually has MORE caffeine than their coffee: http://www.timhortons.com/ca/pdf/caffeine-can ada-en.pdf)
I generally make a cup of coffee and put in vanilla almond milk x2 makes a good start to the day.

HIIT kicks my butt in the morning. ![]()
My wife works in Tim Horton's, and she suggested that the "diet" version of an Ice Cap was to have it made with chocolate milk. It's made with 1% chocolate milk, rather than the high fat cream they otherwise use. I'm not sure I buy that, though... Still lots of sugar.

Iced capp with skim milk and splenda - all the protein and calcium from the skim milk along with all the caffeine from the espresso!
If u have a coffee or espresso machine at home u can easily make something lower in calories with just as much bang.
I freeze coffee, just regular old coffee in ice cube trays then blend those with some milk and add a few packets of splenda.
Or brew up a shot or two of espresso pour over ice and add some milk.
theres always caffiene pills! haha.

Do you mean chocolate covered expresso beans?
haha no I was thinking more along the lines of NoDoz -- but choco covered espresso beans taste a whole heck of a lot better!! (but im not sure how low cal they are)
before anyone gets mad -- i am not recommending to really take caffeine pills on a daily basis - it was a comment in jest. :0)
Personally, I'm not much of a coffee or tea drinker, but I do need my caffiene, and I can no longer get it from soda... I swear by energy shots... Something like 5 Hour Energy or Rock On (this is the cheaper one, sold at Walgreens). The taste can leave something to be desired, but for 4 calories and no carbs or sugar, it gives me about the same boost as a cup of coffee would, and since it's supposed to be natural, I don't really seem to feel a crash come midday... Keep in mind, though, that I don't throw back more than one of these a day, and that you can also take half of the 2oz. bottle for a smaller boost.
Swiss Miss has caffeinated hot cocoa. I haven't tried it, but it sounds good!
