lol, well that's a suprise

After following the rest of the links (about 5 minutes after I crossposted this article yesterday) I edited this post to request people to disregard it and changed the title to ". ." allowing it to die off before anyone posted.

It's basically a couple of DailyKOS (a site full of nutters to be ignored anyway) whackjobs mixed with the author cherry picking some out of context quotes to make sour grape suprise.

Anyway a very nice mod offered to delete it for me and I accepted.

And here we are this morning :)

Long story short, please disregard this post the article reads like sour grapes if you follow more than the first few links.

So which do you prefer: Cake or Pie?

I dont get it?

LOL.  Leave it to you, iggy to post too many threads for my little brain to comprehend.

Durn you!

Umm...my interpretation of Iggy's post is that liberals are bad because we are happy that conservatives lost the election. So we dont really want change, we just want revenge. Or something.

Yes, there is pent-up anger and frustration towards Bush and to a lesser degree the people who elected him, but I think this election was really about the issues, not just "a humiliating repudiation" of Bush.

Now that liberals feel we are actually represented by our representatives, the frustration and alienation we have been feeling for 8 years will start to die down, and youll be seeing less angry, rabid articles like those posted above.

And chocolate cake.

uh yes way too early in the morning for me (over here) to really comprehend what you are getting at. maybe a couple of concise sentences to help us out.

Iggy's one of Grover Nordquist's boys - you know, the anti-government extremists who've been working for 30 years to dismantle the fabric of your society.

He's just annoyed that all that hard work of rolling back the New Deal of FDR and the gains made by the Civil Rights movement in the 1960ies may go down the drain.

Either that, or he's worried that the majority is going to go out and act as if their majority victory in the popular vote and the landslide electoral college win in the election with the greatest voter turnout since 1908 means they've actually got a majority and a right to govern according to the mandate they were elected on. Who do they think they are, Republicans?

bloggers, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

giving voice to idiots who otherwise couldn't successfully hail a cab

hahahahah

Leave it to Iggy to get his panties all twisted about because, unsurprisingly, some left wing extremists are.. well.. extremists.

As far as I know, it's only them who are talking about a mandate. Not President-Elect Obama. They may be disappoitned with what Obama does do.

I think all things considered, we're far more likely to see Obama dealing with some of the critical issues first, such as getting the economy back on track (which can include some forays into Energy Independence and Global Warming). I can also see him taking an immediate crack at his tax plan and Universal Healthcare.

That is.. the stuff he talked about over and over and over during his campaign.

Dunno if that's be lefty enough for these guys.

One of the rare occasions I am deleting a post, although shame on you, Ig for not reading it through more carefully before posting it. ;)

Chocolate cake with chocolate icing over pie - all day long. :)

I have changed this thread to be about reasons why pie is better than cake and that people that like neither are really pinko commies.

Ever heard of key lime cake? That alone is reason enough to declare pie the winner.

Key Lime Cheese Cake is pretty scary good too :)

(Thank God you changed the original, I was going to have to fly out there and whack you on the head Tongue out)

Chocolate Pie is better than Chocolate Cake, but only just a little.

I need no reasons. I'm Lord and Master.

Dunno.... maybe if it's made with key lime juice, but that sounds an awful lot like heresy.

Oh and to answer your earlier question, no, none of the post was mine except for the attribution of the article to the site of origin.

I want cake and pie, mostly pie, but I wouldn't kick cake outa bed.

My work here is done, I'm going back to bed for an hour...

Please note that Pie is currently kicking Cake's arse up and down the bakery.

Cheesecake is the best- but is it Cake or Pie?

a question for the ages.

Bagga: you are the queen of the one liners- just sayin'.

Depends what time of year it is!

If it's my birthday, I want cake!  (white cake w/chocolate icing please)

Thanksgiving? I'll have pie!  (Cherry or apple with crumbly sugary top, warmed but not a la mode!)

Best of both worlds: Cheesecake.

Chocolate Pie is better than Chocolate Cake, but only just a little.

Chocolate Pie is way better than Chocolate Cake.

Chocolate Cake is only good if it is homemade. Most bakery Chocolate Cake is not really good. I don't know what they do to it, but it just doesn't compare to homemade, AND NOT FROM A MIX, chocolate cake.

Pie.  Lemon meringue if you have it, or pecan.  Or key lime.

chocolate cake-pie. it only exists in my head, but boy is it good!
