Is calcium-fortified orange juice a good source of calcium?

I can't stand milk, yogurt and most cheeses. I just don't like the taste and they make me sick a lot of the time. Is fortified orange juice an okay way to get calcium?
Answer
Ounce-per-ounce, calcium-fortified orange juice contains the same amount of bioavailable calcium as milk, and so it can be a good substitute for anyone who dislikes milk or has trouble digesting milk products. However, calcium-fortified orange juice does not contain protein, vitamin D and some of the other nutrients in milk. To be safe, take a daily multi-vitamin mineral supplement with 400 IU of Vitamin D and make sure to eat enough protein from the Meat & Bean food group.
