How do I calculate calories in restaurant food?
Asked by anonymous on May 30, 2008 in Nutrition

I'm Vegan and so my diet is pretty healthy, but I do go out to eat with friends and I want to know I'm not sabotaging all the work I'm doing.

Answer

You have a few options for finding nutrition information for restaurant foods:

  1. Search for the specific restaurant to see if the menu items are listed.
  2. Find a similar item under another brand name, and add that food to your log as a proxy.
  3. Enter the ingredients in a similar food into the Recipe Analyzer as a New Recipe and save it to add to your food log.

Either way, by making the effort, you’ll be exact enough.

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
