Im trying out the diff calculators on the site and I find my "maintenance" calories on this site to come out to much lower than various other websites, anyone else?
anyone find any of the calculators to be accurate?
thanks!
I check calculators on around 6-8 sites. I have found some disagreement, to be sure. I do think if, for example, one is trying to determine BMR using an online site, the best he/she can hope for is a rough estimate. Some of the sites do not factor in things like the 10% of calorie burn our body does just to process food. So I think one needs to be sure to add in that and also to subtract from the 24 hour BMR the numbers he/she puts in for execising, since that percentage of the day should not get double credit for burning calories. Also, it is important to multiple by an activity factor such as moderately active. In any case, I think the best policy is to check several online sites that offer calculations for Body Fat, BMR, Exercise Calorie Burn, etc. I like checking the ones on this site, but I also like to compare them to other sites.
ahh, idk, i dont know my body fat, bmr? i dont know if ive checked that.
i know this site tells me about 200 cals less than what the other sites average out to.
