I just got a call that Hilary's taking South Carolina!
I've gotta check this out...
oh and patty, you got that right! YAY!
"Universal healthcare, here we come!!" is the furthest thing from a "brilliant" statement.
And that's coming from a guy who would love a universal healthcare system, but understands it's infeasible in this country, and understands, furthermore, that no amount of Hillary Clinton in 8 years will get a functional universal healthcare system implemented.
Period.
...and if she wins their primary, and if she goes on to the general election, and if she wins South Carolina...
South Carolina only has 8 electoral votes.
I LIKE HILARY! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
justdojustdojustdo...not arguing witdafools...

Check your facts, sara, before you post false information about candidates. Some people don't actually know that what you're saying is false and misrepresentative.
What she said might be a little hyperbolic, but it's not a lie. Hillary only recently recanted her position on the Iraq War (in stark contrast to her competition), and she has advocated action against Iran.
I wouldn't ever vote for that.
you wrong! you wrong! you wrong! you wrong! I'm doing my Hilary dance...
and, I'm standing w/a lot of other woman voting for Hilary including Mrs. Jesse Jackson AND our own Governor Granholm.
so, you go stump somewhere else, jd, me and sarasspart, are on it!

1) Sarassport was being facetious.
2) Is that English?
3) What does it mean to "stump"?
Haha, I'll be sure to bookmark this and bump it when she loses South Carolina.
when you grow up you'll realize that people can embrace their own beliefs and shout them out and it doesn't hurt you at all...
or, maybe you won't grow up.
Or, maybe you may realize that while you certainly have the right to embrace your own beliefs and shout them out, we, in turn, have the right to let you know just how naive they are.
Calm down, Seabiscuit. Jeez.
Sharonclaire, before you tell someone they sound like a two year old, you might want to
- make sure you're spelling the name of your candidate correctly
- avoid this type of rhetoric: justdojustdojustdo and you wrong! you wrong! you wrong! you wrong!
Name calling is never conducive to good debate.
Her health care plan, as much as I would also like universal health care, is completely unrealistic. "Cost estimated at $110 billion annually, to be paid for by eliminating the Bush tax cuts for those earning over $250,000, as well as by reducing waste and inefficiencies in the current system." (Cnn.com) Well, that's fine to say, but that's not an actual idea on how to do anything. Until she can come up with a better, less vague plan, I'm strongly against her view.
I don't like the fact that she changed her opinion on Iraq saying, "If I knew then what we knew now." If president, you don't always have all the information. But, you still have to make the best choices that you can with what little you do have; changing your vote now doesn't help. I'm under the belief she would have done the same thing as Bush and is only changing based on fluctuating public opinion.
I don't like the fact that she's against some Bush ideas on Social Security (not that she's against it, but the fact that she's not proposing anything new about it.) It's quite apparent Social Security needs some work, and is a huge drain on our country without being fully worked out. Not saying it's a bad idea, but the way it's done now will destroy future generations, especially in that there's a massive increase in benefits with a smaller ratio of workers to retirees.
Anyway, I have more reasons, but I'm just highlighting a few random ones. I don't mean to offend anybody by saying this- just stating my views.
as far as folks having their own opinions and expressing them that is cool with me. But, when you all use your energy with personal slander and put-downs, I read you as being not really worth the time and effort for an argument.
I am, however, optomistic.
Our country has a lot of potential to do great things for ourselves and the world. And, that is what the world is waiting for/hoping for. If we can't get there it's because people like you give up on 'dreams'.
You all and me, we're different people. I've overcome a lot of obstacles to become a successful businesswoman in the service industry. I finished building my own home when my builder went to jail. Hardly naive and, yes, brilliant.
You choose to label me because it makes your life easier and because I don't agree with you.
We all have our reasons for being, don't we?
Why do you think Universal Health Care would be a good thing? It's a mixed bag. On one hand.. sure... everyone gets health care. The question is.. when?
Think you may have a tumor. Well.. go check your state doctors... well.. we can get you in to a doctor on the other side of the state in a month from now. Is that OK? Oh, you need local? Well.. the closest we got is 3 months. Alright, we'll see you then.
Seriously, take a look at how well universal health care WORKS in nations like Canada. There's advantages, but disadvantages as well.
I thought I heard her state in one of her speaches, that she wanted Mandatory Health Care. For the uninsured that could mean premiums as high as $700 a month for a family of 4. Who can afford that?
Generally, the report from EVERY country in the world w/universal health care is VERY favorable. WE have a TERRIBLE health care system already. many folks don't even have access and this especially means our most vulnerable people...children and older people. THAT is a shame.
hmmm, I have imagination enough to conceive that we can have a workable health care system in this country, too.
beachwalker, your information is a little off...
don't get me wrong, I can live gladly w/obama and edwards and ron paul. but, I'm right there with Hilary! don't think for a minute that I think any of them are spot on...
But, I remember how she attacked the health care issue during Bill's administration and I think she's got the most potential. we need a fighter...for the environment and the war and health care and well, so many other things. She's already informed and experienced.
so, still doing my Hilary dance!
