Calling all Artists
If you are an artist, if you draw, paint, sculpt, do needlework, take pictures or any other art, or if you have an interest, I'd like to meet you!
Now that I'm retired, I've gone back to the drawing I love but didn't have time for. Here is a little of my WORK. Show me yours!
But it's my fiance's art work I think you'd like better. We both do more of the dark arts, and a lot of mine tie into my faiths, but he has a really cool sculpture of bat wings he made out of nails and mesh, and a coffin sculpture he did based on Edgar Allen Poe.
I'll take pictures of stuffs in a few minutes and get back with you. =) First, I need to go peek at your art work.
Heheh, I consider cooking an art too, depending on how you do it. I also love writing; I write lots of horror stories or novels, and I enjoy writing fantasy as well.
If you can scan in your work, I'd like to see it.

That's my mom and dad. I sewed my mom's outfit, as well as drafted the pattern. I do a lot of pattern drafting.

What I'm working on now, though you can see NOTHING but a bunch of pink, you can still see my pattern pieces on the table.

An old prototype from summer. I ended up liking the dress so much I kept it around for when I had the body to wear it. I ended up using the pattern, the fabric, but with a lining for a friend's birthday party.

That's my stuffed frog. I love it. Not bad work for crayola pencils and an old pen.

My cupcake that I ended up using to print off birthday cards. After sketching it out, I scanned it to the computer, touched it up with a graphics program, and voila.

Just for giggles. Alex had to wear an eyepatch to work, so we all teased him because he was grunting at everyone who stared and sounded like a pirate. Ten minute sketch on my lunch break, nothing special, but Alex will shizz himself when he finds out I put it on the internet.
AND NOW THE IMPRESSIVE STUFF!

Polymer clay sculpture.

Nails and mesh bat wings.

Texture art that Alex made for class but I loved so much I tried stealing from him on numerous occassions. He framed it for me and gave it to me for my birthday last year.

And the Edgar Allen Poe coffin.
All of our cooler stuff is packed away in boxes (I do a LOT of penned faery sketches, sculptures, paintings, etc) because we're moving before long, and the other clothes I sew are packed away already because it's winter and they're more for summer. I have this awesome corset I made that looks like a blouse. It buttons up in the front, has purple plaid piping, a little pocket, and then a bondage pleated purple plaid skirt. I love it. <3
I hope that suffices. As you can see, Alex is very talented and I draw like a kindergartener. =)
P.S. I like your pears. They're making me hungryyyyy.
I'm an artist in the traditional sense, but I also work in 3D, and digital mediums.
That's the site, but there's not much up there (still learning dreamweaver haha)
I'm on Deviantart as Nasuoni as well, with more stuffs :)

nasuoni, I like your paintings and drawings. Do you make your living this way?
No, sadly, not yet. I'd love to sell paintings, drawings, and prints of my photos, but I don't think that would work well. I'm an office assistant, with the heart of an artist.

I'm a seamstress, and sewing is indeed an art form. I also sculpt, paint (prefer acrylic or water, tolerate oil), sketch, and build a mean popsicle stick fort.

That is why I asked... and I figured you, as his fiancee, might be able to answer me. If you'd rather be snippy, whatever.
Hello there!
I'm actually a professional web designer, but I also enjoy every other form of art in my spare time. I was an art studio major (with a graphic design emphasis) in college.
I've been trying to look for some kind of art club to join in the Boston area but have been unsuccessful so far!
My favorite kind of art work to do (besides web design, of course!) is comic book drawing. One of my favorites that I've done is viewable at this link: http://caloriecount.about.com/pics/jupufo
Amateur photography...very amateur. :-P But I have fun with it.
Claire, your drawings are beautiful! I love the seashells and the owl!

I found your mannequin to be poignant. I know that you were trying for an expression of the surface (and you did get it), but the armless woman seemed to evoke a desparate, powerless emotion. I felt that she was longing to reach out but couldn't.
Hey all! I'm an artist; I paint in mixed media & I am also an art critic for Movement Magazine. You can check out my articles at movementmagazine.com & click on the Arts & Culture section - that's me :)
I am also a singer / songwriter (much better singer than artist), an actress, author / screenplay writer and model. I do all of this at nights & weekends & work in the mortgage biz during the day.
I'm new to this site (just joined today) so I don't know anybody yet.
Good luck with all of your weight loss goals guys - nice to meet ya!
Mia

thanks, that's exactly what i was trying to capture (:
Ok, I will be brave. There's some really great artists here, so I humbly offer you my deviantArt gallery: http://reensie.deviantart.com/gallery/
*Hides* It's just for fun. I'm a physicist, not an artist (well, I will be).

How can I make walking fun?
You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
