calling all hair stylists!!!

my hair used to be REALLY blonde from highlighting it so much but last time I went to a new salon and they bleached my roots instead of highlighting and it turned orange!! after 2 treatments my hair is now dark brown but fading into a redish color. THey said to wait a little bit before I try to dye it again but I reallyyy miss my blonde hair!! Would it be THAT bad if I tried to get it highlighted? its been about a week. Any opinions on this are welcome :)

i've known too many people who've fried their hair because they dyed it too quickly.  i'd wait longer than a week unless you're not concerned with crunchy hair.
Crunchy hair isn't your biggest worry

How about NO hair??

As a stylist, I would say you NEED to give your hair time to recover! If you don't you can end up with what we call a "chemical cut." Basically your hair will get so dry and damaged that it will begin breaking and falling out. You eventually will have to get your hair cut....and depending on the length of your hair and where the damaged hair ends and the healthy hair begins, you may end up with a VERY short haircut.

A friend of mine tried to change her elbow length black hair to platinum blonde in a week. She now has a chin length bob.

Listen to your stylist...she/he knows what they are talking about. If they tell you to wait a month even, you should. You'll be much happier with the results. Warm browns and reds can be the hardest colors to get out, so letting it fade some will give you a better chance of successfully highlighting the next time around

Besides, if you decide to do it sooner, they can and will not be held responsible for what damage it could cause, especially if they warned you not to in the first place.

I don't know much about this, I just wanted to comment on how much I love naturally curly hair!

If your hair happens to be curly I'd advise you to take really good care of it, it's a crime against nature if you don't IMO lol!
orange? do you have reddish undertones naturally?

ive gone platnium and it took a few "processes" to lift.

you should wait about a month between processes.

i waited two weeks. and fried to death it was. it would squeak!
lol

i had to use really heavy conditioners. i didnt noticing breaking or anything. i only washed it 1x a week and conditioned it 2x a day.
i only had a short bob cut though.

if you use toner on the hair it cuts out that orange thing a lot.

since you have had a few people work on your hair maybe ask what type of product they used. mixing the wrong ones can make for strange colors.

i would wait at least two weeks and get minimal highlights to blend it. MINIMAL. then wait an addition 2-4 weeks to put in the rest.

condition the crap out of it.

aura cherry bark conditioner is what i used when i was blonde like that. clairol bw 2000 with 40 developer to lift it.

maybe ask your current girl/guy what level of developer they used.
and see what level the old stylist used.

some peoples hair is very resistant to color stripping.

You should wait....one of my sisters lost a lot of her hair because of a chemical cut.

i've burnt all my hair right up to roots by doing that more than once. trust me, not worth the risk.
That scares me, I love my hair too much to risk burning it all off with chemicals. I'd wait if I were you.

By the by..What would your natural color be? Black or dark browns will turn orange when people try to go blonde too quickly without shading down.

On a personal coment of my own I had really light blonde before I had my daughter and for some strange harmonal reason its now  dull, dark, mousy brown. Just wondering if thats happened to anyone else?
were you staying out of the sun?

my hair color has dulled with age.
i went from a angel light blonde to a golden blonde to a ashy blonde and now it grows in auburn. lol

no baby though. just father time.
curses_to_anathema is right, a toner will help if you have orange tones in your hair.
You would need a blue based toner. Problem is that if your hair is already really damaged, it will soak up the tone very quickly. Toners are meant to be used under close watch and only left on the hair for a MAX of 10 minutes. If your hair is very damaged or you let it go too long, you could end up with a muddy green color instead of blonde.

Also 40 volume is the highest developer (that I know of) you can get...using that on your hair will destroy it farther. I know it sucks not having your hair the color you like but please please PLEASE just wait and have your stylist do it!
yeh it is the highest i have seen.

the cream based ones seemed to be more gentle.
