Calling all pears! How did you get at losing in your thigh/butt area?
Hello!! I am always struck by the differences in body types. I have seen a lot of women say they have such a hard time losing their belly. I'm the exact opposite. My stomach is the first thing to flatten out when I lose weight (and the last thing to puff out when I gain). But my thighs and butt...ugh...they are a different story.
Anyone in my predicament? And if so, what have you done that works? I'm tired of having jeans way too big in the stomach but still tight in the legs!!
Now I'm taking a body works class, and it does exactly what it says it does, yikes. It's a step arobic class (with out the complex moves you need to remember) with added weights. You also use the step to do squats and all sorts of other exercises that make my hips and upper thighs SCREAM.
I've only taken 6 classes so far and the difference is quite dramatic, I can't say I'm not pleased. I'll always be a pear, but maybe I can lower my hip to waist ratio this way.
So if you've got a willing participant, you're sexually active, get busy!
Talk about support. XD
There've been several nights were I told Alex to wash up and meet me in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, closet, wherever 'cause I need a workout. Imagine the look on HIS face that first time.
Someone else posted this article earlier; I think it was extremely interesting.

And CD... what the hell?
Hilarious. I'm sure it's more fun than the elliptical trainer XD.
Happy pants, happy man? lol
If what I say bothers you, scroll right past it.
Everyone seems to have an EXTRA burr up their butts.
So, you know, any thread I may seem "snippy" on today and yesterday, I'll go ahead and apologise for it now.
I've just seen many females that I use to think were kind, turn extra mean this week.
Everyone's entitled to a bad day (or four) and I try to keep that in mind when there're those weeks when every post makes me want to shake my computer and throw it out the window.
Feanor's sick of my openness about sex, I'm sick of *********'s haphazard posting that it takes every remark, positive or negative, poorly.
Watch, next week all of the posts will be so lovey dovey and positive you'll be begging someone to start picking a fight somewhere just for a change.
nocturne, feanor, thank you for your replies...I enjoyed the article and am going to look into step classes. CD: I applaud your innovativeness...I was looking for more gym-related tips but I'm glad you've found something that works for you!
Any other pears, feel free to post what works for you!!
i guess i'm a pear. if i extrapolate from where i was at 166 pounds, i'm pretty sure that's where i was headed. other than weight loss in general, i found that running made a big difference. when i'm running regularly (3-4 times per week), even if i'm not losing weight, everything below the waist firms up. when i sit, i don't spread, and my jeans don't have to contain everything in the same way.

Lucky, runnings never done that for me. I've seen some results from elliptical in the past. How long are you running, and at what intensity?
but--yeah--i'm an ectomorph. i don't bulk up like some people do when they run.
