Calling out all POSITIVE PEOPLE for a "FRIDAY CHECK-IN & share positive news group"

Quote  |  Reply

Smile i just joined and want a co-hort of folks who are willing to check in on Fridays and give an update.  you don't  have to be my "twin"--just be about losing fat/weight right now and being accountable.

if you are interested: reply to this thread with:

1) your weight (and measurements if you like) and an indication of how much you lost/gained

2) your journal entry from today

3) something positive about your efforts this week that you can be proud of and inspire others to do

--

1) i weigh 176 today --stared CC today so net gain/loss = 0

2)  am 39 and a mother of twins.  I weighed 136 when i met my husband 8 years ago.  I used to run 10Ks and half marathons.  I ate so healthy and was always very food aware.I was slim and strong.  I was a size 6.  I also felt great.

Now I am "down" to 176, from 230 at the end of my twin pregnancy-- The first 30 pounds came off fast after my twins were born.  the next 25 came off at a slow but stead rate.  now I am stuck at 176-174. somewhere between a size 12 and 14. I refuse to buy more clothes in these sizes!

I have been teaching spinning 3 times per week since my twins were 6 months and walking for 30 minutes on the days I don't teach spinning. I feel strong but heavy. i know that i don't lose weight without intense cardio of 45 minutes or more 6 days per week...so i am trying to find a way to get in 3 more workouts!!! so hard when i work all day and get home to babies who want me and I want them too!!!  maybe i can find a way to use the double jogger and jog with them!!??  It is not quality time with them but at least I will be with them.

I am still breastfeeding at night and co-sleeping with the twins--they don't let me sneak out of bed without waking up and hollering 95 times out of 100.  so i am forced to sleep to go to bed at 8 with them and we all get up at 6 AM.  If only i thought teaching them to sleep alone was a good idea I would have lots of night time or early morning time to work out. but I don't.  I truly believe in co-sleeping and will do it until they begin show they are ready to sleep without me there.  so work outs  will happen when they are awake and that means they must go with me or I have to give up the few hours of awake time I get to share with them before I go off to work.

hmm.. that is good to realize.  i have been making a conscious choice to be with my babies instead of losing this weight.  but i AM now ready to start doing something different as I refuse to just be unhappy about my size without actually doing something to change that unhappiness.

so starting today I am committing to food journaling either on line or on paper every day and to working up to 6 intense cardio work out per week.

3)  I found a FREE website to log my food, exercise, weight progress, and offers a community of support!  and i made the committment to log in every day for the next 30 days!  i am no longer talking about wanting to lose the next 30 pounds,  i am BEING ABOUT it!

First I'd like to say "welcome to CC" and congrats on losing the weight you have so far... that's amazing.

I am a lifetime yo-yo dieter... I've been everwhere between 125 and 198.  I am 38, 5'2" and weighed in today at 139, down from 158 last October.  I was 145 when I met my husband a few years ago, gained 15lbs after we got married but am now down another five from before.  My measurements are 38-25-35... the smallest they've ever been!

This past week is my "losing week" (I usually lose about three pounds the week before my period and maintain that weight for the next three weeks) and I actually got down to 137.5 on Wed so I made my appt for my "20lb loss haircut" that I promised myself.

I also went shopping this week and actually bought my first pair of size 6 jeans EVER!

It's been one awesome week!

Welcome. I have been in a weight loss class for one year. This time last year I weighed 224. My all-time high. I am 5'8" and now weigh 166.8 - lost a total of 57.2 lbs.

I have been exercising regularly. Started out just walking and gradually increased my speed and distance. Then last summer I added a light weight workout.

The first of this year I signed up for the personal trainer program at my fitness center. Now my weight training is much heavier.

I am currently recovering from septoplasty/sinus surgery. Last week was the first week since the surgery I have been able to work out with weights. I am only working out at 50% now, doctor's orders, but hope to get back to where I was before the surgery within the next one - two months.

I also was able to walk longer and a little faster last week. It sure does feel good to be able to be active again.

Hi I've been a member here for over a year - but have never always let life get in the way of loosing weight

Well no more, decided it is time to get serious

1) Weight 226lbs - net loss 0 as just starting again

2) I am a 40 year old man from the UK.  I lead a fairly sedenatary life.  Partly due to my office based job, partly due to a ruptured disk, bit mainly because I can be bone idle

Well I just bought Wii fitness - and I'm the only one in the house who isn't "ideal" - I'm Obesse

So here we go I want to loose the weight and not be ashamed to be seen in a swimming pool or on the beach

Would love to share stories and encouragement

My current target is 1.5lb per week - for as long as it takes

3) Back here & determined this time.  The Wii is a bit of fun, but it has inspired me.  I have a new convertible car - and I AM going to look good in it this summer!
