I'm only a few weeks into the program, and I'm starting to develop small calluses on my hands... did anyone else have this problem?  Does anyone use lifting gloves?

The only lift that gives me calluses are deadlifts. There are mixed reviews on weight gloves. Half of the lifters will say no don't use them because it interfers with your lift, the other half will say who cares.

Right now they are not bothering me when my deads get up there, the gloves tend to come out

I always use gloves -- I find they help with my grip and also reduce the calluses -- just one more opinion.

I don't use gloves, but then I'm rather new to all of this.

I am getting some small calluses especially where my rings are, but I've just decided to use my pumice stone to sort of buff them out and use a good hand cream to keep the skin soft.

I'm with Paularuck, I bought a pair from Big 5 and found the same benefits.

Thanks guys! I think I'll get a pair... I'd prob be able to wear the calluses with pride, but I'm kinda on the dating scene and I don't know if guys find rough hands to be a turn on, but my guess is no.

Once I find a man I'll rock the calluses!

Better yet, find a man who appreciates the calluses!  Wink

Though I will say that I wear gloves because I have tiny non-grippy hands, and they do seem to help add some friction to my grip.

i have some good gloves too. they really help. i only have a tiny bit of calllus in some spots.

and my man does love em actually- thinks they are a badge of lifting honour. (he has TONS)
