Hey

Im a new member and have about 80 pounds to lose...in my profile i have my goal weight 139 in for December 15, just in time for Xmas! But now the Calorie Coach has said Ill reach my target weight in August 2009! Ive lost more than two pounds a week so I just do not understand why this would be? Anyone got an idea?

Is the activity level where it needs to be?  Numbers?  Maybe it was an overlook, probably not cuz I would definately know the difference between this year and next year.  Don't know what to tell ya, just responding to respond.  Sorry if I wasted your time.

When I saw the date that CC suggested I was upset at first as well but then I decided to see it differently. If CC says that I can take time unitl January 2010 to get where I want to be I am allowed to make mistakes, take a week off so now and then and even not lose for a couple of weeks (like is happening right now) and I can still be happy about the progress I am making. I wrote about that in my journal how obsessed I was with my goal, but when I look at it in another way I have reached many goals among which is learning to eat healthy and working out 3x per week. Losing weight is more than reaching your goal. It means giving up on a lot of habits and changing your ways. And that takes time.

And remember that you are allowed to make mistake. By xmas you will have lost quite a bit and you will feel much different then. You will be able to wear a nice dress. In the months after that you can finish off your project and take your time.

Just my point of view on this, but I understand your feelings. I just think that CC is wonderful in good planning because they understand that losing weight is not a matter of one straight line down towards our goal weight.

Good luck,

Jolanda

Just head for your goal as you see fit- as long as you're being reasonable, and December sounds all right to me. The goal CalCount predicts will change as your weight does, and become more accurate over time. And well, even if you do only make half your goal by December, you'll still look and feel absolutely amazing, so don't let it stress you out. You'll do well.
Thanks a million guys. Appreciate it.  Reckon Ill just keep the head down and see how it goes, maybe Im overly ambitous and then it is too easy to be disappointed.. Am off to the gym now for a session.....
I also think the weight coach is dependent on how much you weigh in. I weigh in once a week so when I weigh in it goes down however when I don't long in it keep going up for the expectant time to reach my goal. If you type your goal into the calorie target tool it lets you know how much to eat to reach your goal time if it is not to rigorous.
for me the calorie coach is ALWAYS 1 pound a week -- I've been losing 1.5 - 2.  I know that will slow down as I get closer -- but for now it's working. the coach adjusts as I lose more -- and now it's up to mid-september 2008 and my personal goal is July.
I just edited my goals yesterday and left the date field blank, so that CC would fill it in for me. Yet my date there is Dec 2008 and my date in the Calorie Coach is Oct 2009. So i'm with you. I have no idea why there's a difference. I'm going to go with the 2008 one. How about you?

I'm still going for Dec 31, 2008. CC keeps saying I'm on track for May or June 2009. Oh well. We'll just wait and see who's right! :-P

Actually, I figure their computation is going on how much harder it will be to lose those last pounds, and may be more realistic. But I'm sticking with the optimistic path.
