Calorie-Count Conference - Location Nominations

Quote  |  Reply
As you may know, we are planning on holding a conference/meetup for everyone sometime this fall.

So, we'd like to take nominations on where to hold such an event/events....keep in mind we should pick someplace with convenient and affordable travel and lodging options.

Let us know what you think would be a good place and we'll hold a vote soon to decide!

Of course everyone will say their area!  needs to be possible to get to from anywhere????

have to think about this one.  I have always thougth East coast but that isnt really fair to the west coasters.
Oooops, Erik. I just started a new threat.  OH well.  You can delete it.

I'd like to nominate the eastern side of the states since it appears that's where many of us are from (according to our frappr map).  I nominate Boston, MA (easier for Erik).  I also nominate Pittsburgh, PA (easier for me.)
Either of those is good to me.  Weather needs to be good.  What are possible dates?
I've never been East; sounds OK to me!
We are thinking October at the moment...
OHHHHHH, Please DON'T make it the 14th weekend.  I have a HUGE fundraiser for my job and cannot be away.  The following weekend would be best.  I really want to help out with this conference too...perhaps speak, etc. as we had discussed long ago.

It looks like halfway between Boston and Pittsburgh is perfect for you guys.

What about picking the median - zip codes more in a very orderly fashion across the country.  Would the median end up being the most central location?
OK I nominate Las Vegas... I would have to fly there but it would be fun!!!
What about a State Park somewhere...or something like that.  Where we could walk and talk...you know enjoy each other's company with exercise and camping really isn't a huge expense.  Those who don't like camping could always rent a room for the night.  Just a thought...Like I said in another post more than likely it will be too difficult to find a sitter for 6 kids for a few days to go too far from where I am.  Let alone having enough money for traveling expenses...but I love the idea.  I think it sounds awesome.
Binghamton is between Boston and Pittsburgh!!!
why not the bahamas?  you all could show off your new thin bodies on the beach! (i'll be behind the palm tree hiding my flab still.. hehe).

anyway.. i think i'd go anywhere.. :)
OB!!!!!!  Im putting you in a bikini!
ewww.. you don't wanna see that.. for the love of all that is holy.. i will never ever wear a bikini
pili....The AVERAGE of the zip codes (from the frappr map) puts us in the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana region (around Detroit).  The median puts us a little further east....NJ/MA (i.e. Boston would be on target)
I think that is a great idea! I am living in Norway and I am sure THAT wouldn't be a place...sooooooo I pick VEGAS Also! Even if I couldn't be there...maybe a video of those who can't come......I think it would be cool!
ohhhh Live feed to anyone who cant be there!
Indiana here..........Michigan is beatiful or even southeren Indiana like Brown County is great in the fall if that is when they are planning this....

Keep averaging those Zip Codes for the midwest...lol...
ob...never say never.

I like the idea of a park environment....how about Lake Placid, NY?  It's in the Adirondacks Mountains, has lots of things to do exercise-wise and has tons of accommodations and would be BEAUTIFUL in the fall.
Yes, we'll be putting out a video for those unable to attend!  I've already lined up a video-producer friend =)
Great idea Slappy........We could all gather with our web cams and talk to you...lol..
