From Calorie Counter to Marathoner

Quote  |  Reply

I joined CC on December 11th 2007.  At this point I just started my running (mainly on the ole' treadmill.)  On March 16 I ran my first 5k race.  From that point I moved outside, got much more involved in running and ran in a couple other 5k's.  I then began my training for a half-marathon which was run on June 1st.  After the half I kept my mileage up and ran a 10-miler in late June.  This kicked off my marathon training and as of October 11th 2008 (exactly 10 months since I registered here) I can call myself a marathoner.  During this time I lost about 45lbs, eating right, running 4-5x a week (about 35-45 MPW) and spinning once a week.  I randomly lift when I go to the gym but nothing on a set schedule.  I hope that this post gives that extra motivation to anyone who reads it, I did it, you can do it to.

Thank you!  I need all the motivation I can get to start running again.  I completed the C25K program and ran my first 5k, it was great...I then slacked off for 3 months and did horrible on my 2nd 5k.  Havent ran since then ( it was 2 months ago)  =(   Need to get back out there!
