How much fat, sodium, protein, carbs, and sugars should someone on a 1200 calorie diet eat
How long are you doing 1200 cals for? It's not very much at all and unless you are EXTREMELY short, and sedentary, you would risk slowing your metabolism down because it's not enough to run on! Probably only okay for a week and then up to 1500 at least.
Still, if you wanted to make it as balanced as possible whilst on it, a good rule of thumb is to go 20% protein, 50% carbs and 30% fats. That would give you 60g protein which is enough for a regular healthy person.
I have no idea what a 1200 calorie menu looks like, but I guess it would contain alot of veggies to bulk out meals, lean proteins in moderate portions, and small servings of carbohydrates at each meal.
smash_uk thanks for the response. I should be at 1600 but have been eating 1200 or so and I think I may have already slowed my metabolism down. I am working up to the 1600 cals.
