Ok...so here is the nitty gritty outline of my workouts. I hit the gym every morning (expect Sunday) at about 6:00 am. I spend 30 minutes doing intense weight lifting then, immediately following that, I do 30 minutes of cardio...usually 15 minutes on the Elliptical or Stair Climber, followed by 15 minutes of HIIT on the Treadmill.
Here is my problem, I have been keeping track of what I eat on the site for about 2 weeks now. My goal was to get about 1275 Cals a day, and long term goal was to lose 20 lbs. Here is my challenge, I eat 6 small meals a day and consistenly don't take in 1275...on average I am taking in about 1098. Are the 200 calories that I am missing a big deal?
In the last two weeks I have lost 4 lbs...good start, but I don't want to experience a plateau or, even worse, gain it back!
Let me know what you think...any comments would be appreciated.
YES THEY ARE A HUGE DEAL! If you are working out that much, 1200 cals is NOT going to keep your body sustained! You should really find out what your BMR is and then not go under that....bmr is what you need to live if you didn't do anything but lie there....so if you are working out so much, you need to UP your cals.
There are a TON of forums....search bmr, there are links to good calculators. And the other forum posts explain it!
edit....here is a link to a bmr calc. after you enter info, it will tell you your bmr, and how many cals for weight loss.....
Hey!
I suggest you go to http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ , and see how much you need to eat everyday. Put in your height, weight, sex, and age into the calculator, and you will get how much you need to eat, as a minimum. Eating less than that will eventually mess up your metabolism. You should never have more than a 1000 calorie deficit, and 500 or less is probably the best way to go. 1098 calories definitely won't work for an active person...the minimum for a sedentary person is 1200!
Search key words from your question, or the whole thing, at the search engine on the top of the page (click on Forums before you hit search). I believe that question has been asked a LOT, and you should find good answers. :)
I would say YES for sure. Make sure its protein or fruit. You dont want to risk infury or lower your resistance to colds or the flu. Plus make sure you get plenty of SLEEP and a multivitamin for sure.

So you can keep track of what you eat - which enables you to analyze your foods and receive the following:
- Health Score of your overall diet
- Warning when you approach your daily calorie limit
- Overview of the good and bad nutrients
