Major Venting!

this theroy going around that you could eat 1300 in crisps, cakes, cheese and chips and still lose weight is realy annoying me. its Not true.

People who dont want to change, and have NO IDEA on Nutrtion will read too much into these posts and think 'hay i dont need to change my eating habits!' and stick with what they are eating. There is almost no Nutrients in that sort if diet- and i chalange the pople of this site to HONESTLY prove me wrong, and lose weight on the above foods ONLY and at a max of 1300 cals. It cant be done!! the negative health benifits are too many too list! even if you dont put on a pound on one day, the surge of blood sugar will cause your insulin levels to sky rocket - the implications of this is it does promote the body to store fat and also it also makes your body more subseptable to disease as it stops growth hormones being produced (or slows them). Also the list of Nutrients provided by the above foods can be wrote on a stamp!! ALSO the mood swings and stomach cramps you would suffer are reason enough not to do it!! AGH!

EDIT: altthough a vent, other views and options will not be pounced on lol please share your views

A calorie is calorie! I can eat a chocolate a day and still loose weight!

Im a strong believer though that 50calories in meat has a completely different effect on your body and weight than what 50 calories of fruit will do!!
People are always looking for shortcuts and the easy way out.  That's why fad diets and diet products are such money makers. 

At some point, we all need to have that epiphany - A balanced, high nutrition diet, burning more calories than you consume, and losing a pound or 2 a week is the only way to get rid of the weight and keep it off.

Why is that so hard to understand?
I think the point is that by saying, "A calorie is a calorie is a calorie," people realize that what they eat is their choice. However, they often realize that although they could eat 5 krispy kremes everyday, if they eat like this they will feel hungry all the time. By budgeting calories, and understanding that what is eaten is a choice, eventually better nutritional decisions are made.
