I'm really confused as to what my calorie goal should be for maintaining. I want to tone up -- particularly my mid-section. My weight is right around where I want it, so I do not plan on losing weight purposefully. If i lose fat while maintaining and toning, that'd be awesome, but I am assuming that the (hopefully) gain in muscle will basically mean I maintain.
Anyway...my stats are about 5'6'', 19 years old (in a few weeks anyway). My weight has been fluctuating pretty consitantly between 121.5 and 123-ish. More often than not, though, it is 123. I dunno what my measurements are since I'm not certain where to measure. Moving on though. I used to bike about 13 miles per day, plus walks. Now my activity level is walking the dog almost every day for at least 30 minutes (more if I have the time), and then I do some "strength training" -- yoga/pilates DVDs, crunches, etc.
If i want to maintain my weight about where it is, but tone up my mid-section...about how many calories should I aim on eating a day?

If you enter your stats into this chart and read off the numbers for between 'low activity' and 'moderate activity' you'll be in the right area.... i.e. 2040 - 2360.
