Enough trips into the coffee shop and it occurred to me that cinnamon and nutmeg might be good for something other than topping drinks and baking.  So I tried some on vanilla ice cream....amazing....

Putting toppings on the ice cream gives you a range of flavor you don't get from flavoring in the ice cream.  With nutmeg one bite tastes like vanilla, the next one like eggnog. Very intense flavor too.  And a lot less calories than hot fudge or caramel.

Anyone else tried this?  I've been thinking about using ginger, or maybe dried lemon juice.  I draw the line at Frank's Red Hot Sauce.....
