calorie increase and less energy?
The past two days I have increase my calories significantly..all the doctors have said that when I did this I would feel better and have more energy. I find it to be the complete opposite! The past two days I haven't even wanted to go to the store to walk around because I've felt so tired. I've been sleeping the exact same as before I increased calories so that is not the issue. Before I was always up for light walks or yoga and now I just want to lay on the couch! I'm scared that when im at my goal weight I'll be a lazy bum!
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
I think this is normal. When i went into residential treatment i has so much less energy than before when i wasnt eating, i was tired and wanted to sleep all the time. It has something to do with your body working hard to repair itself and it taking alot of energy to use and digest the food you are giving it. When you body gets used to it, you will have so much more energy and feel so much better but you need to give your body a chance to heal and repair itself first.
Keep up the extra calories and your body will love you for it
Same thing is happening to me!
my nutritionist told me that sense i was previously starving yourself, your body would not send messages of exhaustion correctly due to a lack of fuel. This is the reason why you could go on and on with no pains on so little. But now that my body was being fed, it could actually FEEL itself and the soreness/exhaustion that is normal again
As well as what the others have said, the increase in carbohydrates could also be to blame. Carbohydrates contain serotonin, which make you feel good and also promote sleep and relaxation. Your body could just be taking a little while to adjust to the increase.
I dont think i can add anything but this has hapened to me , its pretty normal as you begin to restore more of your weight it should subside h x
I reckon it's your body trying to process the extra food and drinks and figure out what to do with it! Which is good, it means your body is recognising the need to repair, which takes calories and REST!
I definately want to sleep longer when I'm doing night feeds, they make me tired. So I guess that's similar! x
