Calorie Intake/Burn Deficit?

Quote  |  Reply

I know this has probably been answered a million times, but I can't seem to find it. I want to know what my deficit is each day on eating compared to my daily burn. I usually eat anywhere between 1200-1400 calories a day, and burn roughly 2100 cals per day (or so days CC). That burn rate includes a 45 minute power walk, or 3 miles at 6:30pm at night, and the burn rate is stated as me being sedimentary.

With all that information, what would my deficit for the day be? And is this healthy?

Your deficit is your calories burned minus the calories eaten. So if you burn 2100 calories in a day and eat 1400, the deficit is 700 calories.

CC usually suggests a 500 calorie deficit daily to lose a pound a week. You can have a higher deficit, but don't go above 1000 calories a day. The usual  advice is not to go below 1200 calories eaten in one day (for females), but the minimal amount varies from person to person. If you weigh more, you may need more than the minimum 1200.

THanks, that's what I thought, but I was having a major blonde moment! I'm not heavy at all, j ust trying to trim some off the top per se to help with my depression and overall self esteem.
