Ok so it seems like these days every brand makes a "100 calorie pack" of something or another. Sometimes these can be a rip off because they only have like 2 muffins in them or like 5 baby cookies or what not. So my question is, what kind of food do you wish would convert to a 100 calorie pack? I'll Start:
I wish pop tarts (the great value kind at walmart is what I prefer) would because I love the brown sugar cinnamon but I never want to commit to a 200 calorie toaster pastry, do you blame me? So then I end up eating little nibbles off a tart and then wonder where all my calories went. So what about you?
I'll admit to liking the 100 cal pack cookie granola bars (oreo, nutter butter, chips ahoy), but otherwise I try to stay away from 100 cal paks - like you mentioned, there's very little there. And it's too much packaging.
You can practically make anything into a "100 cal pack" on your own. For pop tarts, just cut one of them in half, then wrap the other up in foil or in a baggy and freeze it.
bagels! i do have 7-grain ones that are "only" 170 calories, but that's the lowest cal/tastiest bagel i have found so far! i love tim horton's 'everything' bagels, but they're 280 calories before u put anything on them ![]()
Have you ever thought about fresh fruit? At about 100 calories are bananas, apples and multiples of others. They taste great. They are well packaged and they are filling. Just a thought. I eat them instead of commercially prepared food and I have lost 45 lbs. since October, 2007.

bagels!
I don't know how available they are in most stores, but Western Bagel has a 110 cal bagel:

Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory!!! Any one of their peanut putter kinds will do...![]()
A 100 cal pak of anything from The Cheesecake Factory? That would amount to, what, about a 1/5 or 1/4 of a slice? Not much of a snack....
I have seen "cheesecake petit fours" in several places, although not Cheesecake Factory made.
I do like fresh fruit (especially strawberries, yum!) but every time I eat an apple, I am so hungry right afterwards! It's so weird! Like even if I wasn't hungry before eating the apple, I will be when I'm done, sometimes my stomach even growls (it's very odd)
Another option for Pop tarts: If you're feeling industrious, you can make your own, and make them any size you want: http://www.bigoven.com/157999-Homemade-Pop-Ta rts-recipe.html ![]()
Blue Diamond does sell 100calorie natural almond packs and they are quite good!
I would like to see prepopped 100calorie popcorn bags at convience stores etc, this way if I purchase a sandwich I could buy a portion controlled bag of chips to accompany it. Glennys does offer spud d'lights for 100 calories which are good just hard to find.
The baked lays would also be nice in 100 calorie bags b/c if I buy a single serve bag at a convience store it still has 210 calories in it.
stardust, where did you see the 100 cal almond packs??

We have loved these for years and used to order them via the internet. My wife just found them at our local Walmart - yeah!
I bought my 100 calorie almond packs at Walgreen's. I love 'em :)!
Also you can buy a food scale (got mine at Target) and measure out your snacks and put them in plastic bags. Those 100 calorie packs are great but way more expensive than a full size box of say chocolate teddy grahams (yes a weakness).I hate all the unnecessary packaging :(

Thomas' makes a 100 calorie bagel that is pretty good! They also make a 100 cal english muffin.
My favorite 100 cal pack is the Blue Diamond all natural plain almonds, I know that I could measure them out myself, but it's my one convenience. It's the only thing I buy (besides fresh fruit) that I don't have to pack up ahead of time to eat on the go.
Oh my god, I wish pop tarts weren't 200 calories, too! I love them!
But like linde said, I make my own single-serving baggies of my favorite snacks! I usually just stick with the serving suggestion on the package, so sometimes its 80, 120, 140 or whatever. I write the calories on the bag with a sharpie so I know when I grab it what it's going to "cost" me!
two medium sized tomatoes and half a cucumber (don't peel). slice & dice. add some lemon juice & 66% potassium salt and there you have it - the 100 calorie pack salad.
P.S. 100 cals of garbage is still garbage - just more wrappers added :-)
i think 100 calorie packs are a great thing for dieters who need a little something sweet or salty to get them through their day. i've seen 100 calorie packs for nuts, beef jerky, cookies, clodhoppers, crackers, cheesies, rice cakes, chips and even mini cans of coke.
i personally do not buy them. i did once, and the box was empty within the day. also, i've started caring less about calories and more about general health and i know that i don't need junkfood daily, even if it only has 100 calories. it still has un-needed sugar, sodium, trans fat, saturated fat, fat and lacks nutrients like calcium, iron and protein. i could get so much more, feel much fuller and eat so much healthier for 100 calories, so to me, it's a waste.
oh poptarts. my mom rarely bought them when i was a kid, but everytime i got my hands on the smores flavour, i ate as many as my pudgy hands could get ahold of! haha, good thing that's a thing of the past.
