86 calorie pizza
take the lite english muffins the ones that are 90 calories for the whole muffin cut in half = 45 calories
measure out 25 grams of pizza suace = 12 calorie
measure out 10 grams of motzerella cheese = 29 calories
put in preheated 350 oven wait 5 to ten minutes and you have an 86 calorie pizza that taste good, have two or of these for lunch and it only cost 172 calories, sure beats a bowl of cream of wheat (135) calories. you can add pepperoni if you want but remember it will add to the cals, and two of these will stay with you for a while
I used to eat something like this as a snack when I was a kid, only we used ketchup and oregano. lol.
Thanks for reminding me of this great little snack!
mmm I love making those. I did a raw low carb version of this, I took a piece for pepperoni and put a tsp of sauce on it and a small pinch of shredded mozzarella cheese and ate it like that. It was super yummy but it lacked on filling me up. Your way is deff better.
gem86, your idea reminds me of one of the party favors we usually serve here at home: Hungarian "Csabai" salami with cream cheese. Take a thin slice of salami, put in a spoonfull of cream cheese, roll, and stick a toothpick through it. These are typically the first thing we run out of every party we have. I will have to look up the calories on this; I haven't dared think of anything outside of the box yet this early in my new lifestyle. lol.
haha I can't believe I havent thort of using an english muffin!! I love making low cal pizzas for lunch normally using pita or mountain bread but i can imagine the thick muffin wuld be such a better more doughy pizza like base!
Lately tho I have bin obsessed with eggplant and have actually been using sliced eggplant as the bases for my pizza toppings.. soooo low calorie and extremely tasty but a lil sloppy hehe.
Thanks, Sammy :)
eggplant, hmm? I don't think i would care for that too much
I loveeeee using eggplant! I always slice the eggplant into almost an inch thick circles, top with tomatoe paste, basil and oregano, and then some fat free cheese, place them all on a cookie sheet and put in the oven until the cheese is brown and gooey :) yummmm
ive only had eggplant parm like 2x's n it was a lil greasy and my my stomach hurt. then again it was fried.
cute idea! i never thought of doing that before.... my brain is ticking here for whats in my fridge: im thinking bread (topped or soaked? probably too soggy of if soaked like french toast) in pasta sauce, topped with shredded cheese and onions, chicken -- bake and voila!
