I saw this on an artcile and it sounded good - have not tried it.

I just got irritated when I read the label and realized that my "healthy" Whole Foods veg chips were 150 cal/1oz - just as bad as other chips.  This might be an alternative to satisfy my salt tooth.

Anyone else have any 100 cal snacks favourites?

Sounds like it would be yummy and edible for the eyes as well!

If you don't mind, I think I will post this in my "Weight Loss through Enjoying the Kitchen" group---we are always posting recipes that are good for the soul as in satisfying, delicious AND like I said, beautiful as well.

Let us know what you think after you make them--I have never had parsnips before---anyone??? ( :
Mmm, sounds good.
Nice recipe!

The problem with chips is, they are deep fried, no matter if they are potato, or corn or veggies.  It's hard to find good baked chips.
I like parsnips - a more delicate flavor than carrots- they do not keep as long as carrots.
And much healthier than the 100 calorie snack packs!
have yall tried lays light?

only 75 calories per serving. they are yummy!

they make lots of flavors

bbq, tostitos, plain, ruffles, and even doritos!!!

I pretty much gave up on chips/crisps. Sadly, lol.

I have a few different cereal bars that are only 105. Cranberry, chocolate/orange, etc.

They have replaced candy bars for me.
what type of cereal bars are they?
They are Tesco "healthy living" bars.
I get the cranberry and the choc/orange flavours.

They're not available in the states, but I'm sure you can find something similar there. :)

Sounds yummy and healthy since it's not fried.

I like air popped popcorn with curry powder or red pepper sprinkled on it.
I am late, I know. But I have to chime in here!

I lOVE stove-top popped pop corn.
I use a tsp of olive oil for the poppin and popcorn salt for the flavor.
... it's sooooo yummy!

:)
hey lorraine,

how much corn do you add to the tsp of olive oil?    Sounds good.
I just bought some Breyers cookies and creme double churned 100 calorie ice cream cups...they are delicious!
I use 2-3 tablespoons of kernals.
I know it's not a low fat item but the oil makes the popcorn go down easy and it helps the salt stick to the kernals.

I LOVE popcorn!

:)

I 'used' to love air-popcorn and it doesn't have many calories and i used a 0 spray on it, then parm cheese.  but, I'm reading about glycemic index foods and popcorn is a 'high' GI.
I have some Kettle brand "Bakes" potato chips, with white cheddar and they are delicious, actually better than fried chips

1 oz = 120 cal
3 g fat
170 mg sodium
2 g fiber
1 g sugar
3 g protein

Not bad at all!

Made by Kettle Foods, PO Box 664, Salem, Oregon 97308
I love, love, love the lightly salted variety of the Kettle Bakes. They're delicious and have oodles of potassium (of all things, in a potato chip).
I like 100 calorie chex mix packs, quaker oats connamon toast rice cakes(I know, but only 50 cal)50 cal applesauce packs, and just got into suckers(lollipops)
