Hey everyone I just have a question for ya. So last year I lost a very big amount of weight and now I am wanting to drop two lbs the healthy way of course. Now I know that's not alot but here is the question. Did I screw up my metabolism because I think I was actually gaining weight on 1300-1400 calories. I mean that's why I'm wanting to lose. Plus my digestion just has not been working right. I'm 5'7 118 lbs and want to be 116 lbs. I used to have a 1600 calorie diet but then redced myself to a 12-1300 calorie diet. Then went through a binge and over exercise period. of course :/
So after all that have I permantly reduced my metabolism? I'm only 20 years old and I dont't think I would be able to live the rest of my life only able to eat 1200 calories in order to maintain. I know this is a kinda lame post but I would like to hear someone elses input. I can't really ask any of my family or friends.
you actually might have wrecked your metabolism but just to be sure you need to go to the doctor and get your thyroid checked really you shouldnt worry about two pounds they really wont change your appearance losing them and i dont think you need to lose them if you weigh 118 and are 5' 7"
oh jeeze..that kinda scares me to think I could have done that...But then I was overweight when I was not eating...huh I would like to see a doctor tho.
Okay now I do feel bad about myself. :(
116 is UNDERWEIGHT...i know you were previously overweight but honestly either extreme is not good for your health. you should really reassess your goals because they are not healthy by any means. 2 pounds is not noticeable and it's dangerous since you are only on the border of being underweight and healthy as it is. You should be able to maintain on 2000 calories, but it would be advisable for you to gain a few pounds back because your body is clearly craving more weight and energy or else you wouldn't be gaining on such a low intake. you are wreaking havoc on your metabolism because you're not at a healthy weight and not eating enough to sustain your body. If you are moderately active your burn rate is estimated at 2077 from phord.com/cc so you are definitely not eating enough. i hope this helps :)
first of all congrats on losing much excess weight but there r some points i think would help u:
*116 is definitly very low u specially if u r med or large framed
*it really makes sence that u cant maintain at 1400 cal coz that kind of weight at your height can only maintain at 1150-1300 cals at sedentary life
*if u want to increase ur intake u ll have to increase your exercise
i know being overweight is depressing and u r young and want the body of ur dreams but u need to get to your own set point-even if at a higher weight- where u r satisfied with the way u look and healthy on a well balanced nutritious diet and having an active fit body
plz dont b tempted to chase a dream of having a model's body when u know the only way 2 get there is thru a very unhealthy lifestyle that u wouldnt bare and eventually can get u binging or -god forbid -regaining all of it back
sincerely
sarah
Well I do have a small frame so I can notice the diff in a 2 lb loss so I don;t know if that says anything?
losing 2 pounds puts you in the underweight category...what is this weight loss really about? clearly you have NO WEIGHT to lose and would benefit from gaining, so I feel like you really need to learn how to accept and love yourself because your mindset is not healthy. please, try to look beyond the number on the scale!!
