how many calories do u guys consume in a day??

i TRY (try being operative word, lol) to eat 2000 calories/day.

Well I was really surprised today because I just signed up for this, feeling a bit "fat" lately and got home and typed in all that I ate and it came up to a whopping 3,025 calories..... I was really shocked because mentally I thought I was around 2000 or so.. big eye opener. I "cheated" today and had a cheeseburger & fries for lunch from of all places Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Hospital, I work across the street.....  so I knew that I ate bad today but very shcoked when I added everything up... just not worth it! I feel very enlightened.

My appetite is erratic. So between 1500-2500 calories.

I weigh 238.5 pounds as of this morning, my BMR is 1900, I am lightly to moderately active, and I aim to eat about 2000 calories a day - slightly above my BMR.  I also try to get as much protein as I can shove into my face - which isn't as much as I'd like - and 4-6 servings of fruits and veggies daily.  I usually manage all of these, amazingly enough.  The next goal is to figure out how to lower my salt intake...

1300-1500 for me. Works pretty well that way (unless i get lazy and start eating out too much heh)

I try and stay around 1600-1700 a day even though my meter says to stay at around 1500, but if I do that it puts me at an average of 1000-1300 calorie deficit for the day. I think that I might be working the burn meter incorectly, not a high enough start amount for the correct cals per day. After I add my training for the day I am at around 2700-2900 for my cals burned. I really think based on the stuff I have seen that I have way to much difference. Possibly the reason for my plateau.

I do find it hard to eat more than about 1800 cals a day. I have to really try. Good news, right, good for you food has much less cals so you can eat so MUCH more!

Amen on lowering the salt intake!!!!!!!!!!!! Hardest part for me!

Well, when I'm not sick like I am now (600 cals a day, forcefully), I usually eat about 1400. It can really range though.. sometimes it's 1000, and a week ago it was 1800..

The reason I'm here at CC is because the tools figure it all out for me.  I just go by what it says and I do fine.  It's different for everybody so knowing how much somebody else eats is useless information.

On a day to day basisi with all the excercising I do it flucuates from 3500 to 4000...I find it hard to eat that many though

I put myself on an aggressive track. I'm a 6' 270 lb male. It estimates that I burn 2900 cals a day. I try to keep my intake at 1500-1800 per day. so far, so good.

I'm 6'1" and about 249 lbs right now, so I have been keeping under 2200 a day.  It's been working well so far.

600 - 4500 calories a day! :D


Average is 'bout 1800, I suppose, though.  I aim for ~1700 counted, and assume I get about 100 from nibbling.

I stopped counting a while back as well.  But, back then, I was targeting 1800ish and often going over.

I don't really religiously count anymore since I have learned to rely more on my hunger/fullness cues...but I am in the process of trying to gain a few pounds as I'm a bit underweight...so it depends- but my intake can be anywhere from 1500-3000 depending on the day ;) Oh and I never ever everrrrrrr skip meals ;)

Never counted religiously. Don't really count very much either, it's more approximate than anything. So, I'm going to guess that I come in around 2800 or so when I exercise. Although I eat the same amount when I don't exercise, just one protein shake less, and sometimes I don't snack on those filberts or almonds. My aim in the day is to have 5 meals that are 400 - 500 calories and 1 meal that's about 100 calories. So the goal is to hit between 2100 and 2600 each day. Some meals go over to the 600 cal mark, some are lower and around 400. I've found that actually counting is too much trouble. All I've tried to do is to get an idea of portion size and work with that. If I want more, sometimes I'll have more, and sometimes I just take my mind off it it.

I eat around 600 calories in a day if I'm being honest. It sounds pretty low but I fell sick when I eat more than around 800.  I'm trying to get rid of this semi-anorexia thing, so don't be like me. :P

According to what I log on this site, between 1400 - 1600 a day.

I don't know exactly, but I'm eating right around the same as I did when I was still logging, and when I started going into maintenance, I was at about 1,900 to 2,000 a day.  I make a point to eat a little more on workout days.
