It is not that there are calories in the pill, it is what the hormones in the pill do to your body.
Your body is starving. It is protecting itself from your 1000 calorie diet + regular exercise. See a dietitian and get a healthy balanced diet to go with your lifestyle.
Yeah, I don't even think Birth Control pills HAVE calories, it's just the hormones/chemicals that are being released into your body. The majority of contraceptives actually do promote weight gain, which is why abstinence (or just outer course/foreplay) is the best way to go.

See your previous post about this for more details:

Hmmm..So taking 4 pills (over 4 days) has caused a 2 pound gain.   Well we know that 1 lb of fat has 3500 calories  Wow! 4 pills must have 7000 calories?

(I apologize for the bad joke.)
Hmmm.  by the way, how many calories are in cigarettes?  I've just been dying to know.

(sorry.  Bad joke as well)
good lord girly its probably just a little water weight.  Don't freak
these people is so stupid, don't listen to them.

-could be you're eatin too much salt (salt makes your body retain water), so that could be just water weight.

-if you really exercise and at the same time eat only 1000 cals a day you should be burning a pound each two to three days, so maybe you're doing something wrong... count better put more effort on your workout.
I've been on the pill for just over a month now, and my weight has BALLOONED! Its not calories hun, its the hormones which makes you feel like your hungry, but your not. Read everything about it. Its a myth about it making you gain weight, it just makes you feel hungry whch makes you want to eat.

supernova, thank GOD! I was waiting for someone to say that. I agree with you 100%. When I started the pill, 5 years ago, I weighed 166. I was in grade 10. By the time I finished grade 12, I was 140. I got out of highschool and started gaining weight. Now, I started CC at 240. GUESS WHAT?? The doctor told me that its a common misconception that birth control makes you gain weight. It doesn't. It can't. Its a stupid little pill. The reason so many people think that it makes them gain weight is because it can, in fact, give you cravings you didn't have so much before. It's all in learning to control those cravings, and everything else is still the same.  I am still taking the pill, and I am down over 12 lbs now.
Just my 2 cents.

I started Nuvaring back in March of this year. Prior to this I had lost 37lbs. My first week on Nuvaring I lost 1 more lb. The last time I weighed I still hadnt lost anything. I quit taking the birthcontrol because Its not natural and really screws with a womans body. The Nuvaring made me stop losing weight. It has been 13 weeks since I last saw a drop on the scale. I even had a medical doctor tell me thats exactly what it is that is causing this 'PLATEAU'.

I have been birthcontrol free for almost 2 months. It really screwed up my body bad. I know I will start losing weight again but not until my body rids itself of this $hit!

I also agree that it increases your appetite bigtime. Since quitting the b.c. I havnt had the cravings that I had to fight.

Goodluck.
first of all- abstinence is not the best birth control because yiou don't get to have sex and what mentally healthy individual wants to go through there whole life like that? (plus who said she's on it to prevent consception- what if its for the other benefits such as period regularity?)

second- your current weight loss strategy is so abysmal that who knows if the pill is even a factor in this case? not only is starving youirself dangerous and painful- it doesn't even work in the long run.  your body is probably getting rid of as much muscle as it can afford and holding on to as much fat as it can in an atempt to save you from eventual death.  eventually you will lose fat but you will probably gain it back + some when you eat again as your body tries to store as much energy as possible when it's in survival mode.  please read the suggestions on this site careully to how much you should be eating and act acordingly.  it may take a little longer (whats the rush anyway?) but it works and is easy and stays off.  good luck.

I can't believe that you have not heard that taking the pill can sometimes lead to water retention in some women.

You may want to talk to your doctor about getting a pill with a lower dosage, that won't affect your hormones as much.

And above all please STOP STARVING YOURSELF!

1000cals is not enough and your body will not loose any fat i.e. weight because it's trying to hold on to what it has to survive!

Birth control does not have calories. If you gain weight on birth control it's because you are retaining water. And it doesn't necessarily last forever. When I first started bc (6 years ago!) I gained weight but after I adjusted to being on the pill I was able to lose it again. I'm still on bc and I LOVE it! Not to mention my doctor would have a cow if I got off because I"m on it for medical condition (though the added bonus of not getting pregnant is definitely beneficial haha)!

I also want to add htat you are starving yourself and your body won't lose weight if you are only eating 1000 calories a day. If you DO lose weight that way, you'll gain it back when you start to eat again.  Please start to EAT! If you want to lose weight do it healthily. 1200 calories minimum and if what you are doing for exercise isn't working try changing it up. Sometimes your body just gets used to something and needs something new.
