Which Breakfast Cereals Are Best?
Entire supermarket aisles are dedicated to breakfast cereals, from sugary cereals such as Frosted Flakes and Cocoa Puffs, to cereals meant to help with weight loss, such as Special K, to health cereals such as the Kashi line of cereals. There are even cereals advertised as low calorie breakfast cereals! Navigating through all of these can be confusing. Which ones to buy, which ones to avoid? It is important to read the nutrition label and pay attention to the serving size. Compare cereals that you are interested in and choose the one with the smallest amount of sugar. Cereals with fiber and a higher amount of protein may be good choices too! In general, opt for what most would consider “plain” cereals, such as Cheerios and corn flakes. You can spice them up yourself!
What to Eat With Breakfast Cereals?
Whether you are eating your cereal hot or cold, there are healthy ways to spice it up. Choose to eat it with skim milk, and add cinnamon, berries such as blueberries or strawberries, or sliced up fruit, like peaches or bananas, for more flavor and nutrients. You can always put some in a Ziploc bag and take it with you on the go for snacking through the day, or even mix in some dry fruits to create a trail mix-like mixture!
What you eat can have a direct effect on your skin if you're struggling with psoriasis. See what to shop for.
