How many calories do YOU burn?
I am kinda curious to see how many calories people are burning during a single workout session.
Here I go:
60 minutes of Slim in 6 Burn it Up! = 486 Calories

it depends on the type of workout. i get bored really fast so i do a few different activities.
i have one of those mio watches to figure out how many calories i burn during exercise.

- flow yoga (faster paced than regular yoga) - 489 cals/hour
- pilates (floor) - 288 cals/hour
- circuit training - 632 calories/hour
- kickboxing - 577 cals/hour
- rebounder (usually intervals) - 403 cals/half hour
- plyometrics workout - 480cals/half hour
- walking - approx 300 cals/hour
My goal is at least 600 calories a day - today I got 867 I did weights for an hour and then bike and stair stepper. I did HIIT on the bike and that caused the big burn.
When I do the elliptical in the morning I avg 500 cals then work abs for while and other stretching On the weekends I do a 4 mile walk up steep hills and at a good pace to burn about 650.

Generally, onthe cardio machines I tend to burn around 300-350 (bike, elliptical, stair machine). I don't count the weight lifting stuff b/c that's too hard for me to calculate.
Plus, since I'm at college, I tend to walk (3.0mph) for about 60-90 minutes a day..burning a buncha calories also!

I am doing the workout once a day for 6 days a week with Sunday as a rest day. Then I do some light Yoga and stretching.
What is Plyometrics?
Edited to add that I looked it up and wow that is intense! I feel like the beginner that I am!

Hi Anxious,
I usually work out using the Stairmaster at the gym set on level 16-17 out of 20, I enter my age & weight & at the end of my 60 min workout the read says btw 900-1000 cals burned.
The treadmill set at btw 4.5 & 5.2 mph at an incline of btw 10-14 out of 15 reads approx 740-800 cals at the end of 60 mins.
The Elliptical at the end of 30 mins on level 13 (on random mode) reads 350 cals.
I normally burn anywhere from 1100-2000 cals per gym session.
Hope I've helped

Whoa bahagirl - that's an awesome workout! Just curious- do you or have you ever suffered any sports injury because of your workouts ? I'd love to put in more effort than I am currently- but am terrified of hurting myself.. Any input ?
I've done a maximum of 500 to 600 calories in a workout and average at around 400 per day.
That equals jogging at 4.5 mph on a treadmill for 45 minutes or on the elliptical for 45 minutes with resistance b/w 6 and 10.

Well it depends, I'm a cyclist and an I try to average 30 miles a day and that can take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours, but intensity is what burns the cals. a good guess would be 500-600 an hour.
The highest estimated day was a 140 mile ride last year, I figured it out at somewhere around 6000-8000 calories!!
Eat to Ride/Ride to Eat baby!!!!!

I burn between 700-1000 a day on my two ventures per day to the gym.
I usually burn between 600-700 calories by running on the treadmill for 1 hour 5 minutes.
Anxious1: How do you come up wth you number on the workout? I am going by this post on the BB.
I'm also a cyclist, fortunate (?) enough to live in Southwestern PA, the Land That Is Never Flat. An hour of riding can be anywhere from 500 calories (a recovery ride back-and-forth along the valley floor) on up to over 900 calories (a blast across a set of rolling hills, averaging > 16mph). I can't really sustain intensity higher than that for that long (yet).
The thing that really rocks is that since cycling is not an impact sport, you can do it for a very long time. A century (actually 107 miles) in the West Virginia mountains burned up nearly 6000 calories one day (seven and a half hours of turning the cranks, 11000 feet of climbing, and one thrilling 50mph, five-mile descent).
I wouldn't recommend, and couldn't do, something like that every day, but an hour or two (or three a couple of days per week), with a long ride on the weekend, is not unreasonable.
On that kind of schedule, it sometimes gets tough to pack enough in to keep the deficit reasonable. It's a nice problem to have.

I burn at least 1000 on a rowing machine for 60 mins, its best to get a manual one so you can set your own pace.
I burned 500 on the elliptical today and then worked abs for about 20 minutes. And I just got back from my hour spin class where I burned 700.
I average about 700 from a 10k run and then I´ve no idea what I burn from abs and 30 hr of working arms and legs:{
I burn 600-1,000 calories
with a combo of running and weight training.
Except on Saturdays when I do my long runs - then it's 1,000-1,200

I burn about 700 cals on an elliptical for 33 minutes. And then I burn an additional average 300 cals lifting weights for 90 mins with rest.
if i step on the elptical for 45-50 mins around 1100 calories burned, if i do my Hiit routine about 600 (20 mins). and i have no clue how much my lifting days burn.
Where did you get the information that 60 minutes of Slim in 6 Burn it up = 486 Calories? Do you have any idea how many calories are burned with Ramp It Up???
What about with weight training, sans cardio? I work out with a trainer 4X a week for 30 minutes doing heavy lifting... how many calories would I burn each session?
Thanks!
Melanie
I burn less calories per hour as I'm lighter on the scales at 100lbs. So 30 minutes of running burns 200 calories, and 40 minutes of weights burns about 140 calories. So on average, through exercise, I burn 150 - 200 calories a day. It's hardly any I know! But my goal isn't to lose weight but build muscle. I still come out the gym sweating and with heart racing so I know I work hard!
