Calories burned during dance workout?

Hi All,

 

I just finished the "dirty dancing" workout tape, it was my first time today.  Anyways I went to put it into the log and I just typed in dancing, I figured it was aerobics (general) tahts what it brought up anyways.  I did it for about 65 min.  I"m just wondering if I'm giveing myself to many calories burned, it wasn't that high impact but I"m sure sweating and obviously if you've ever seen dirty dancing, you know how the moves are.  Anyways any insight would be nice, i don't want to over compensate and eat too much thinking I burned that many calories.

When I do aerobics, i usually divide the time I work out into - aerobic (high impact), aerobics (general) and aerobics (low impact). I figure at least the first 10- 15 minutes was low impact becaue you're just warming up. I would rather under estimate the calories I burned than over estimate them. but don't worry about it too much! :)

I do Zumba once a week for an hour, which is kind of dirty dancing-esque. It's probably more high impact, but it's highly influenced by Latin dance. Anyway, in that hour, I burn between 400 and 500 calories, depending on how hard I work... maybe this gives you a fram of reference.

Thanks Guys! :) I will leave it general its says I burned 703 cals for 65 min. so I'm happy with that!

 

Counselork: What is Zumba? I'm not much of a dancer (but I love to dance :S) And I had so much fun doing this today, I'm hoping I can get better and maybe show my hubby ;) LOL.
