calories burned

I recently purchased a pedometer and i walk on average a little over 10,000 steps per day, i looked up online how much 10,000steps burns and got a result of 'You walked 5.55 miles, and burned 355 calories.' i was wondering if i set my activity level to sedentary (i burn 1600 daily) i could use my pedometer to calculate my other calories burned separately? Or if not what would my activity level be ..lightly active or still sedentary? thank

From my understanding, the sedentary setting takes into account things like the average amount of time you spend walking because even a sedentary life style doesn't mean you just sit in a chair 24/7.

I believe it already takes those 350 calories into account.

Ok, so im not lightly active then? thanks for the reply

It's not an exact science, but I believe that's what most people do. =)
