How many calories burned?
So, I know calorie counting is an estimation game. And I'll def need help estimating this one!
Tomorrow I return to kung fu and I'm now maintaining. Actually, I'm still trying to figure out my maintenance calorie amount. I upped my calories by 300 and, yeah, I did a little more exercise than normal but not enough to lose the pound I did. I actually think I was undereating before so- yeah, still working on this.
Anywho- Kung Fu is 2 hours. The first hour is actual kung fu which, at my level, is mainly technique. I doubt it burns many calories. it's more practicing punches kicks- sort of like forms. The second hour is a physical fitness class and it is pretty intense.
Of course, not the whole time is spent working out. There are little breaks and for the physical fitness class we normally did-- what's it called? You know, stations! And depending on how intense each workout is, some stations are just rest.
So just a real rough estimate. I'm trying to get it into my head that it's okay to eat back calories I burn, heh.
you didn't provide any stats so it's impossible to tell how many calories you burned. someone 4'11 and 100 pounds would burn far less than someone 5'8 and 1 50 pounds.
My bad.
So I'm a chick. And 5'5" and about 117 pounds.
Yes, I'm aware I'm a little light.
Edit: Double my bad. I'm 17.
I plugged in the following:
- female
- 5' 5"
- 117 lbs.
- age 25 (just a guess)
- moderately active
Your estimated calorie burn is 1980.
A second way I tried figuring your calorie burn is to put you at Sedentary and then figured in 60 minutes of kick boxing, etc. exercise. I know you said two hours, but I don't know how many times a week you do it.
- sedentary calorie burn = 1530
- exercise = 560
- Total = 2090
These are just estimates and you would have to find the calorie burn and exercise calculators you like best. Then you would have to on a daily basis figure out how many calories you are burning on the days you do exercise. Age is an important factor, because a 17 year old is going to have different needs than a 45 year old, probably.
In order for you to maintain a healthy weight, you would need to know how many calories you are taking in and then how many you are burning.
Can I lose weight by walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes twice a day?
You will lose weight if your calorie intake is less than your calorie output. By walking on the treadmill for 40 minutes, you (personally... Read more
