calories burned?
on the calories burned thing it says walking for an hour pushing a stroller will burn 196calories an hour. but when i walk i have a double stroller with 2 kids in it and i walk on a rough trail through a wooded park...up and down hills, through grass, dirt, mud,sand,gravel....is there any way to find out how many calories that burns?

I'd call it Hiking- Cross Country, and I'd think it might even be a little more than that with the stroller, maybe climbing hills with 0-9 pound load.
look under walking and look at climbing hills with 42 + pounds....I would say that may be more like it. over 500 cals burned.
I usually log my walks pulling my son in the wagon as walking while pulling golf clubs. ^_^
it seems especially apt when I've picked a few things up at the store and I have those in the wagon too. lol

okay thanks everybody
My trainer at the gym told us that power walking is like 370 calories. But on this site i went to. I was a fool to and didn't write the name of the site down. It said that a brisk walk is like 297 for a hour, and doing it for 30 mins is 150-180.. These totals are all for a 150 pound person. Maybe i need to look up cals burned for a 180 pound person and see what it give me.
I say is you are pushing the kids and going up and down a hill i think you burn more than 504. I saw here on that same post that carring heavy boxes and moving one hour burns up to 504.
Hope this helps.

They should expand the activities lists here. I have a hard time logging my time on my little trampoline, as well as times when I'll sorta-semi Power Walk. . . which means carrying weights while walking, and trying to hold the Power Walk form, but since I'm not very strong I kinda cheat and let my arms rest from time to time :-P . *pokes self to get stronger*
My arms goes numb if i don't move them around.
I try to use the more conservative figures so that I am either trying to do more things to work off the calories or eat less so I don't have as many to burn off. I use the figures lightly. If I ride a bike 5 miles in 20 mins. that would be an average of 15 miles per hour. I still use the 10 mile per hour calculation. This way it will cover for any misjudged portions or ingredients that might eat. It makes it less disapointing when I weigh in and have calculated that I should have lost more and didn't. It makes me feel better when I weigh in and get a surprise and found I lost a little more than expected. So far now I have lost 15 lbs and feel good that it will continue.

Yea the calorie count on this site is no were close to my heart rate monitors calculations for my 4 mile walks. I do the walk in a little over an hour but to log the calories as even close to what my HRM says I have to put it in as uphill @3.5 mph. Granted some of my walk is up steep hills but also coming down and flat but my HRM says I burn about 500 -600 but this site only gives me about 250 for an hour walk at 3.5 miles and hour on level surface.
