Calories Burned while Lactating - Body Bugg reading
Ok I got to wear my body bugg yesterday and I officially burned 2634 calories. It was a pretty active day for me: I logged 13,176 steps. I am 5'4" weigh 146 and have a 6 year old, 3 year old, and 4 week old. I did laundry and cooked dinner yesterday in addition to walking my 6 year old to and from school. I was actually surprised that my calories burned were lower than I expected. If I hadn't been so active I wouldn't have burned nearly as many calories as I had been estimating. I still burn only about .9 cal/min resting like I did before lactating. Hope anyone else who is curious benefits from this information.

Yesterday was a "rest day," drove kids to school, no chores, leftovers for dinner etc. Logged about 6500 steps and burned about 2300 calories. Again it seemed like my extra calories all resulted from increased activity rather than any increase in my resting metabolic rate. FYI, good information!
What's a body bugg? Please enlighten me, I'm curious now! :)
Its like a heart rate monitor that you wear on your arm and it reads the calories your body is burning as well as how many steps you take. It gives you a better idea of how many calories you are actually burning vs. estimating. My estimates tend to be way higher than real life so it helps my keep my calories in check.
Oh, that sounds pretty nifty! Where to you get one and how much are they?
It is kind of expensive which is why I am sharing one with my mom. She got it from 24hr Fitness.
How close was it to the burn estimator on this site?
I range between 2300 (light day) and 2600+ (heavy day), CC's burn meter gives me 2200 for moderate activity and 2500 for heavily active, so I burn about 100+ calories more than it says, although based on steps per day I would consider myself lightly active which CC says is only 2000 cals. So at least 300-600 more than what CC would calculate.
