Calories burned while working?
Today I worked a nine hour shift at Subway. I couldn't find anything about calories burned working fast food, so I used "serving tables", which told me that I burned over 1300 cals just by working all day? I mean I believe I could burn a lot, I'm constantly moving around, picking things up, cleaning things. But that seems like too much. Anyone have an idea what would be the closest estimate?
I think that's accurate. I am a nurse and am on my feet for 11 hours out of the 12.5 hour shift I work and burn about 1900 calories per shift.
The website below allows you to select different activities and calculates the expenditure based on your weight in kg and the time you've performed the activity.

To find your weight in kilograms just divide your weight in pounds by 2.2.
thanks!
