hey guys!!

How many calories do you think I should be burning a day to lose about a pound a week. I am 23 years old and weigh 122.6 height 5'3. My goal is to be 113 by new years. I am pretty active and just recently starting counting my calories and aim between 1200-1500 cals a day.

What are your thoughts?

Aim to have a deficit of about 600 calories a day!

On average you should have a 500 caloire deficit each day to burn off a pound a week.  However, I noticed that even though I was doing that I wouldn't see the results but every 2 weeks.  I was able to average 2 pounds every two weeks - but sometimes the scale wouldn't move after a week.  you just need to be patient and let it happen. 

Now, that said I realized you are only 122.6 pounds - I am 142 and I only burn 1690 calories a day total - I have been trying to only eat 1200 calories a day - but for me that does not work out very well.  I would say that you would need to be working out almost everyday to maintain your deficit of 500 calories if you are concuming 1200-1500 calories a day.  What does your burn meter say?

I'm 28, weigh 120 , 5'3" and aiming for between 110 and 115ish as well.  I shoot for 1200 calories a day and have been losing roughly a pound a week.  I have definitely noticed that it has gotten harder as I have gotten closer to my goal - when I was 130 it was super-easy to lose quickly but not so much now.  I do jumping jacks or jump rope for 5 minutes 4 or 5 times a day to add a little extra to my regular routine (which isn't much) and that has made a big difference.  Good luck!  You can do it!
