Calories..burning off to eating..question?
okay.. so to NOT gain, but im not saying lose either...you have to just Burn more calories than u take in correct???
well what happens if u go over in your calories for weight loss or weight maintance...doesnt that cause u to gain?? but my burn meter and eat meter the defiecit is at 550 but i over ate my calories today.
am i going to gain weight??
If you eat more and exercise more too, and still have a deficit you'll be fine. If you eat more and do less exercise, or have an overall burn lower than what you ate you'll have a surplus. If you consistently have surpluses you'll gain.
If you consistently have deficits, you'll keep losing. If you have both they could balance out.... Nothing like over-analysing something...
okay well what scares me is how...i ate about 1600 calories. when im Losing rate is 1200....my maintaining place is 1700.
but i never go over 1300 usually. and i went to the gym this morning and burned 340 calories. plus my burn meter is alot higher than my eat meter..but ive just ate SO much stuff today, im afraid ill gain it
If you do gain because you ate a lot it's food weight.
You need to eat more than you burn in a day to gain weight. To gain 1 pound, you would need to eat 3500 calories over your basal metabolic rate.
To maintain weight, you eat what you burn. To lose weight, you eat less than what you burn. To gain weight, you eat more than you burn.

Does this mean that since I burn 1600 at a sedantary rate and I'm only supposed to eat 1200 to lose weight that If I ate 1600 cals a day I would maintain and not gain? I've been losing about a 1/2 pound a week at sedantary by sticking to my 1200 cals. Today I started back to exercising and burned 209 cals on the treadmill. I'm having to force myself to eat a little over my 1200 cals (because I'm not hungry), so I will stay in range of losing and not maintaining.
