Calories for this Cheesecake factory dish?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi everyone! I just went to the glorious place that is the cheesecake factory today! I don't feel guilty at all, but am just curious... Anyone know about how many calories is in the Pasta Da Vinci and a slice of Godiva cheesecake? I hope I remembered the name right...

Thanks in advance!

One slice of the Godiva cheesecake is about 860 calories, and the Da Vinci is around 3,736 calories.
The Cheesecake Factory is one of the worst restarants you can eat at, nutrition-wise.  Even their salads w/o dressing are VERY high in fat and calories.
whoa... 3,736???
3736?? Is that possible? O_O;; I even had it in lunch special version, aka smaller...
well their portions are huge normally so if the lunch portion is smaller its probably like 500-800 calories less, but still....
If you had a smaller portion, probably 3000 or 2500 minimum. It IS crazy how high their food is in calories. Lucky me; The Cheesecake Factory isn't anywhere near here. In fact... I don't think it's even a Canadian franchise. =P
There is one within walking distance from my house.  Luckily I don't like the food because it's made me sick twice.  So no temptation to go there : )
No, I am sorry but whoever said 3,700 is lying and being ridiculous. There is NO way, unless the portion sizes are actually an ENTIRE cheesecake, that it could have that many calories. I am sorry but whoever said that is very misinformed about calories in general if they seriously believe that it could have that much in. Even a really fattening fried breakfast meal barely reaches 2000. I would say even the biggest pieces of cheesecake would be no more than 800.
The 3700 is for the pasta dish she ate and the 800 was for the cheescake she ate.
Rastnim, ahaha. Please read before you go off like that. I realize that you're just ignorant of what was written, but there is absolutely no need to call anyone a misinformed liar who's being ridiculous. =P

Perhaps you're also ignorant of some restaurants such as the Outback or whatever.. look at THOSE calories! It's crazy how many calories they can stuff into their dishes. =]
I stick by my guns, there is no way ANY dish can have that many. Was it pasta in lard!? Was it in a soup of cooking oil?! NO. NOT possible.
Its not only the fact that they drown everything on creamy buttery oily sauces, but their portions are gargantuan...i mean HUGE.  I've never seen portions that big anywhere else.

Well, however many calories it was, it was quite a bit, and should only be a rare treat! =]

I thought the same thing, that no way could 3736 be correct.. but I googled it and at calorielab, that is the estimate they give that dish! Even if the real dish is only half that (unlikely!), that is still higher than most of us can eat all day. Crazy! And the 800 calories for cheesecake slice seems very realistic to me, considering they are large and they also put on about a full cup of real whipped cream.

Here is the link to the calorielab article: http://calorielab.com/news/2007/07/28/calorie -pusher-comes-to-town-the-cheesecake-factory- hits-rochester/

I am glad they are american, I am safe here in britain! I still find it hard to believe a PASTA dish can have that many, do they serve you out of troughs?! EVEN if they sauce was pure lard and butter and cheese I am only seeing 2000 max.
Oh wow, good thing I only ate half of the cheesecake! XD I know someone who's not going to eat anymore... lol
If people did not eat at those imperialistic chain places, they would go out of business and their underpaid, underchallenged workers could open their own decent cafés in the abandoned fat factories.

A friend of mine made $80,000 a year working at the cheesecake factory... paid his way through college AND grad school - and wasn't even a manager... just a lowly waiter.

Not all restaurant workers are underpaid.

thanks lyssagrace, that's quite good to know.  it's convenient to say that unhealthy chain restaurants also employ unethical business practices, but that's not always the case.

i see the official "calorielab" estimate, but honestly i'm not sure i believe the 3700 either.  that's really a high number.  a pound of pasta is only 1660.  so the sauce is over 2000?  that's like like a cup of heavy cream (800) and a stick of butter (800) and then maybe a bunch of parmesan cheese or something?  i'm not convinced, unless there are fried pepperoni poppers in it...

I think i have to agree with rastnim....I find it VERY unlikely that there could be THAT many calories in one dish.  That's my intuition talking

But then again I could be entirely wrong.  Franchised restuarants never cease to surprise me...Surprised

Nonetheless, the link I posted gives you an idea of the calories you could have consumed. i don't know the actual validity of the source, but the numbers seem pretty credible (while i'm on the subject of valid sources...while i found the previous link by denise07 very interesting, i don't think what the author was saying is actually true...just widely exaggerated to make their point.  But i probably shouldn't say anything considering im doing the exact same thing with my link...which is just trying to help!Laughing)

Anyway a-yoyo, I hope you had a good time at the cheesecake factory! That's all that matters when it comes down to it. calories are no fun, but friends and family are, so don't let your calories be the fun-sucker of your special evening!

P.S.- Although it's a calorie-counting sin... i LOVE their cheesecakes. alot.  No really, i mean A LOT. Just thought I'd throw that out thereTongue outSealed
