Calories for this Cheesecake factory dish?
Hi everyone! I just went to the glorious place that is the cheesecake factory today! I don't feel guilty at all, but am just curious... Anyone know about how many calories is in the Pasta Da Vinci and a slice of Godiva cheesecake? I hope I remembered the name right...
Thanks in advance!
Perhaps you're also ignorant of some restaurants such as the Outback or whatever.. look at THOSE calories! It's crazy how many calories they can stuff into their dishes. =]
Well, however many calories it was, it was quite a bit, and should only be a rare treat! =]
I thought the same thing, that no way could 3736 be correct.. but I googled it and at calorielab, that is the estimate they give that dish! Even if the real dish is only half that (unlikely!), that is still higher than most of us can eat all day. Crazy! And the 800 calories for cheesecake slice seems very realistic to me, considering they are large and they also put on about a full cup of real whipped cream.
Here is the link to the calorielab article: http://calorielab.com/news/2007/07/28/calorie -pusher-comes-to-town-the-cheesecake-factory- hits-rochester/
A friend of mine made $80,000 a year working at the cheesecake factory... paid his way through college AND grad school - and wasn't even a manager... just a lowly waiter.
Not all restaurant workers are underpaid.
thanks lyssagrace, that's quite good to know. it's convenient to say that unhealthy chain restaurants also employ unethical business practices, but that's not always the case.
i see the official "calorielab" estimate, but honestly i'm not sure i believe the 3700 either. that's really a high number. a pound of pasta is only 1660. so the sauce is over 2000? that's like like a cup of heavy cream (800) and a stick of butter (800) and then maybe a bunch of parmesan cheese or something? i'm not convinced, unless there are fried pepperoni poppers in it...

I think i have to agree with rastnim....I find it VERY unlikely that there could be THAT many calories in one dish. That's my intuition talking
But then again I could be entirely wrong. Franchised restuarants never cease to surprise me...![]()
Nonetheless, the link I posted gives you an idea of the calories you could have consumed. i don't know the actual validity of the source, but the numbers seem pretty credible (while i'm on the subject of valid sources...while i found the previous link by denise07 very interesting, i don't think what the author was saying is actually true...just widely exaggerated to make their point. But i probably shouldn't say anything considering im doing the exact same thing with my link...which is just trying to help!
)
Anyway a-yoyo, I hope you had a good time at the cheesecake factory! That's all that matters when it comes down to it. calories are no fun, but friends and family are, so don't let your calories be the fun-sucker of your special evening!
P.S.- Although it's a calorie-counting sin... i LOVE their cheesecakes. alot. No really, i mean A LOT. Just thought I'd throw that out there![]()
